[00:02:53] Mr. John Avena, which was a special guest at Texas with you know comic con this year as well Which we'll talk about a little bit, you know, we did do an awesome D&D game with them as my stickers there

[00:03:03] You know, it's kind of like one for one right that's me in the middle right there. It looks just like me Yeah, yeah, don't know the tyrant there, but you'll get to that We'll be a video a video releasing soon

[00:03:16] Avigne is actually working on it for us. So keep an eye for that primos It'll be on the website and of course on our YouTube and yeah, Latino comic con. Let's talk about it just in general

[00:03:26] I mean 2024 success. What do you guys think? Elia you and Hector work on this together? I mean, let's start with with Hector. What do you think of the show? How did it how do you feel it turned out? Yeah, you know actually this would be our

[00:03:42] Our third one from COVID, you know, we've been You know getting back to it and each year has been getting a little bigger and better And you know, there's something like hearing that feedback, you know that buzz afterwards

[00:03:58] You know how the show was and how uplifting it was How folks had a lot of fun and how it touched different individuals differently and it's very positive You know, this is one of the reasons why you know

[00:04:11] Yeah, it keeps us keeps us going keeps us going doing it each year. Hey, you know this was our eighth year of Wow, eight years right, I mean it's It's the longest final no comic convention in Texas

[00:04:27] Not in the United States because that's Latino comic textbook. Of course I love Meeting all the creators every year and and I just that's one of the great things for me is seeing the interactions between the creators

[00:04:39] You know, they're getting to meet and support each other. That's kind of what it's all about is supporting each other It's like a community. It's like it's almost like a reunion right each year. Yeah, that's right. I live what would you say that?

[00:04:50] Yeah, no, I get so excited any time like We have the applications open I'm always excited to see who we're gonna get for the next year because I get to meet so many new creators who are just Out there representing the culture and it's so heckin cool It

[00:05:09] When you took on the took on in this application, she took this on with Hector, you know It's hard to look at it when you're in the middle of it but stepping back now, you know kind of removed from it. I mean

[00:05:21] What stood out different this year than maybe past years? I Would you say yeah, I I'm really surprised that like just how many people are coming out with our own titles of comics like

[00:05:36] I think the first year like of course like the first few years that we did it We just had a lot of artists and maybe they were like shy about making their own titles or like put showcasing out there applying

[00:05:46] But this year like I think we had a stacked like number of everybody was like I make a comic I make a comic and I'm like, oh my god

[00:05:55] This is so hard like I wish we had like so much space so we could just give everyone like a table honestly And a few of them making movies too, which is pretty cool Yes filmmakers animators just like Latinos and media in pop culture media Amazing amazing

[00:06:27] Let's take a beat you're coming in pretty choppy head to where we can't even make out what you're saying So let's give it a break Okay, perfectly. Yeah, okay Awesome, all right, so let's let's start from kind of what you you responding to the question there. So good

[00:06:45] No, it was the amount of different independent talent, you know a lot of great indie the diversity of any talent this year new talent It's it's been that's something that is really Challenging each year trying to bring those veterans again that balance between, you know local talent that's

[00:07:06] Representing pushing the envelope and then new talent. And so that's something that we always try to balance between Both worlds and like Elia No, it's challenging thingy gear, right? Would you say Lee? It's challenging just have that balance of new and

[00:07:29] That's veterans. Yeah, for sure cuz like we all we have like Artists that have been there almost every year and of course we love bringing them back because we know like who they are They're creations that are always making more but then I'm like there's so much

[00:07:46] Newly discovered talent that we find that we're like we want them there too and we want to showcase their work Yeah, for sure It's a con that I've noticed, you know being in I mean as a visitor and kind of being involved the last few times

[00:08:01] What's really great about it is that I do see a growth, you know year-over-year when you bring in new people You bring in their audiences and you're bringing in new avenues I mean the biggest thing that we noticed in the last few years was lucha was a big

[00:08:13] You know predominant thing that happened here, you know, I know Hector You had a hand in that and it was a great great great, you know Event, you know, it was like a destination for people to come check out the lucha

[00:08:23] I invited family and friends. Okay, there's lucha's bring your kids, you know, and the audience audience gets into it man It's a blast. I mean, I know you can't go too much into detail, but like How does it feel to have lucha's at Latino comic-con?

[00:08:37] I mean, I mean really just it's becoming a staple of it Well, you know, it was something that we thought about, you know Pushing the envelope in text Latino comic-con something different You know, especially after

[00:08:51] Covid year, you know, it's like okay, how can we bring folks back again? You know because we built up a lot in the beginning, you know, we did a lot of promotion a lot of legwork

[00:09:02] And so we took a pause we went we win digital we went online for two years and we brought it back and we You know brainstorm, you know, how we're gonna bring even more people. How are we going to? make it special and so

[00:09:17] You know, we're all fans of leaving a rattling, you know, Mexico US And so it's the net it's just a natural fit to it really is it really is and I remember those those digital years really well Mainly because I was hosting those digital

[00:09:38] but I really love the element of lucha in there because that gives a Spectacle to it that like, you know, you know large cons are gonna be like here's our celebrity guest

[00:09:48] We're like yeah, but we have an actual lucha competition happening. So I was like that's honestly pretty cool Yeah, man, it's a blast like you said it's a destination

[00:09:56] You know, like we we get to see it once a year and there could possibly be something in between those right? But the fact that we were able to follow not only

[00:10:05] The the wrestlers, you know that we can follow and enjoy like I'm team aske. I'm sorry this team is predominantly T-Maske But I mean, you know be a tone your email, you know what do you think? Yeah face, you know a

[00:10:33] technical, you know, it was all and so goes hand-in-hand with You know the the greater than life individuals out there, you know And so we brought this over with lucha leave me and I'm like well, you know

[00:10:47] If I'm gonna bring it, you know if I'm working with Mass Republic with Kevin Kleinrock and Kevin Garcia So it's a part of that and you know if I'm gonna bring it

[00:10:56] I have to you know put myself in it, you know, I have to actually earn literally respect You know, and that's why it is very culturally sensitive to you know because you can say that you can Yeah, you can metal with lucha leave it, but there's also

[00:11:11] there's a big deep understanding of culture and for about yeah, I've been training actually You know And so well, yeah, I mean the training really does help. I know Last year for example

[00:11:34] There was a big deal about you gonna be in the ring and then there was an injury You know, but it's yeah, so no stuff have injuries happens in some You know things happen right

[00:11:55] You know, they're seeing I've seen the picture of you working out your your your bill, dude. Oh Dude, I have long ways to go man. It's like hey man. He's he's red carpet ready I'm about to hit the El Peso hero workout program because I need it Yeah

[00:12:13] I mean, I think it's just awesome because the athleticism behind the you know the rest of us themselves The traditions behind it, you know the respect they have for it and the understanding from the audience too, right?

[00:12:23] They understand that there's liberties. There's there's lines to cross and not cross. There's a lot of respect and it just goes back This is in our culture right and so the fact that we can share it with the younger crowds now

[00:12:34] Other individuals coming in they're not familiar with it, right? Like we talked about I think a comic-con Kevin says that it's not just for Latinos Like this is us really the spotlight is on Latinos But anybody can come in right and enjoy

[00:12:47] I can't stress enough that I had some Anglo friends say well We don't want to go and interrupt and be in your your area. No, we want your Come by from us It's a celebration together and we see that you're with the Lucha Libre events here, you know

[00:13:05] It's a different background, you know, especially in Dallas And I tell you this that the Dallas-Fort Worth area has an amazing Lucha Libre scene You know, we have our comics in our artist but they have their own Community, you know, it's pretty amazing. You know if you're interested

[00:13:25] You know, just you know There's always somebody in town right there's always a way to get in touch with that if you're looking for it You'll find it right? Should I join the ring next year I mean

[00:13:42] Who's gonna be my partner the heckle partner that I that I this is like that's Like like just quietly excusing yourself and then this mass wrestler coming in No, me and me and Freddie we got to be the hecklers we team up really well each year

[00:14:02] You could throw me in the rain it's just gonna be like I'm not saying you can't you know, you know fake. I'm sorry if you get injured, you know Like other people have in the past for the record, you know, we haven't talked about it this this

[00:14:18] Discussion yet, but I got COVID not not at I don't think I got out Texas Comic-con but the day after that I was working another convention Yeah I mean you said them yeah

[00:14:38] There's like a lot of lucha here and I used to have work was mass republic Kevin as well is doing there Is there anything you can tell us about maybe any projects that people can look forward to especially if they're into the lucha

[00:14:48] verse, you know, and they just want to know more about projects You know, I mean just a little cool rundown, you know the mass republic comics was launched and with the lucha verse so last

[00:15:03] There's a really amazing book called the bump it off, you know about vampir from WCW It knows so which underground I mean you can check out the bump beetle podcast on nice, you know, you said it's a second It's awesome

[00:15:20] October right before Halloween October, okay over that the bump beetle copies You can check it out you ask for public and You can prefer from there, but I don't know Kevin. Can you talk about the project? Well, yeah, apparently when we get been talked about so it's public

[00:15:39] Yeah But yeah, the dragon Lee book is getting closer to being published It's you know the adventures of dragon Lee and his family when they were much younger and fighting monsters in Mexico based on true story clearly

[00:15:52] I've seen me the early cover art. It looks really good. So we're excited about them. I'm excited about it Yeah, it's it's a middle grade book correct. Yes. It's completely. It's an amazing Entryway, you know to a lucha libre especially with a real-life family

[00:16:09] So that's the great thing about mass republic is that they represent real lucha doors and in different narrative forms You know, oh, that's exciting because I could talk about how we have characters that are larger than life

[00:16:22] But they're standing right there in front of you in the ring You know what I mean like and they have a lineage, you know It's not just like some guy that walked out of the woodwork. What who is this guy?

[00:16:30] No, like there's there's a lot of tradition which in Texas, you know I grew up in California LA when I did I came to Texas I didn't realize how big lucha truly is especially here in the south, you know

[00:16:41] And even when I mentioned lucha is back home in the later. Oh where how like it's a huge thing that you don't It's like you don't see it until you're involved with it. You know what I mean? So it's so cool that

[00:16:53] Commensions then I see people cosplaying as dragon Lee or the least equal and I'm like, hey, I'm writing that book Yeah I mean, I'm excited cuz you know talking about a little comic on this show was very exciting

[00:17:08] We got to meet a lot of new artists like you said new returning artists came through showing us some other new work You know and what are the artists that we got to actually interact with was

[00:17:18] Jonathan if I'm gonna be in a comics, would you know? He's a friend of the show Oh, yeah, look I got my I see I got my king Midas That other way he hand paints these

[00:17:32] On his tiktok live he paints them and he you know sells them on there. So check them out. Check out his tiktok shop Lucha forever talking about lucha and then of course in the my muerte we talked about it tons and

[00:17:45] As of this recording Americana to all him to is out. So if you're a fan of horror and just classical Creepiness overall, it's my favorite book out of a series I bought Americana Americana 1987

[00:17:59] Americana volume two is out and he says that and this is not like anything secret that we're gonna go generational They're gonna be a 1977 they'll be 1967 Americana. So we're gonna get a whole lineage of that. So I'm excited for his books

[00:18:13] Not only that but it check him out, of course out of you know comics But we got to play D&D. He wrote a he wrote a one shot for us which I've never played D&D guys there is gonna be footage that you guys can see again

[00:18:25] Check out at my pretty most podcast for that and we'll put some clips here in the show today, but Hector you you kind of walked in at the end of it and where you were like dude like tell me what you told We tell them tell Yeah, I

[00:18:40] Was just the folks were so immersed into y'all into y'all's Playthrough I was really impressed because yeah I mean there was literally going up, but you know not everybody's into the

[00:18:53] Richard evener right and so I mean people were pretty scared. They thought I was a actual or so You know I took a picture there just leaning towards their And thrall into the to the world that was picked

[00:19:12] You know painted for them, you know and so it really it was really special meaning that you know next year we got You know probably yeah, maybe next year. I mean it you know if if the audience enjoyed it We had fun. I know we're gonna keep

[00:19:29] Doing this keeping these characters and kind of running through some adventures together Go ahead come what he do is we could have like the black box theater It'll be like lucha, you know match one and then D&D match one and Every funny talking to you

[00:19:45] Imagination like reading it rolling. What did you think about our D&D game? I mean you kind of play a little more than we do and what do you think I

[00:19:52] Had so much fun. Yes. Oh my god. I remember I know like in the chat y'all were like I'm nervous I don't know. Uh, that's like no, it's gonna be just fun and y'all did y'all embrace y'all's characters So well y'all picked it up so quickly

[00:20:07] And I can't wait to continue the story and play with y'all like it's it's so exciting John Did so well setting up a great like scenario for us to get through in the short time that we had

[00:20:19] Now I can't wait to see what like almost like he's a good writer. Yes, I know right It's like he does this kind of thing like that man's horn man. I mean the comics they got his work He has a dungeon in the last one on the block

[00:20:31] I haven't read it yet, but I like everybody was talking about that one He was yeah, I wanted to buy last Palo Tero like merch without even wanting to read the book The name is good. Yeah, I mean, I love it. I'm down for that story

[00:20:45] The next issue of last Palo Tero's being worked on so there's stuff there to be look forward to so there's always the communal guys of you Go back and listen to our show

[00:20:54] Of course, we'll have some clips here. Don Avena has released like a thousand books in a year and he doesn't stop Yeah, yeah, there's always some there's something for everybody. So check out his work Thanks for John for of course for doing that with us and who knows?

[00:21:05] He said he had a blast here in Texas. So he may come back next year and we'll see where we can make it So definitely definitely set it for that pretty much stay tuned. Here's a little bit from Texas Latino Comic Con 2024 stay tuned

[00:21:52] I hope you enjoyed some of that clip from the match at Texas Latino Comic Con 2024 you can check out the full But you can check out the full match on

[00:22:04] Texas Latino Comic Con YouTube channel so check it out and check out of course at Texas Latino Comic Con on social media And of course Pimo's know remember T. Mosque here shot it loud

[00:22:21] If they want to know how it ended they need to go to your youtube channel Yeah, here you go to the youtube channel, okay My store my my is that my vision from my point of view

[00:22:30] I didn't like the outcome just say whatever, you know, it is what it is. It's all Pain flew in the air. I've got confused. There was there was there was drugs everywhere. I don't know how It was like It's not everybody It was every parent

[00:22:49] Ah, it's a very dusty. I mean there's a lot of money involved too. I'm just gonna say yeah I don't see where the money comes from, you know But Anyway, also, you know, we talk about you know

[00:23:00] Representation we're big supporters of cheesebar comments and their books and the creators there kevin is of course writing a book for them as well Um, we had some great releases coming up this month And I wanted to go over those with you and let's talk about that

[00:23:13] We're gonna show a graphic here on screen and of course Kind of walk us through it. What can people look for right now in comic shops or releasing later this month? Yeah, so we actually have some amazing books from chispa the summer chispa has begun

[00:23:28] We have dragon thrall right by veronique medrano step c the illustrator And we can go over to gilla girl. Of course, uh, your boy hendry barajas too to barajas

[00:23:40] Yeah, at least antonette. Um, it is an amazing creative team. Uh, they've done a lot of work together a lot within the mainstream books Gilla girl and you can look at my fluorescent wish by my tokayo actor gonzalez

[00:23:56] By the way, I kept texting him about the big event and he was responding for a minute Then after a while of me asking questions about where i'm supposed to park is it like I just realized you're getting the wrong actor You're the wrong I

[00:24:14] I mean, you know what? Yeah, man. You know what they can step in where necessary, you know and uh, What else do we have in the 13? We have a

[00:24:24] Yeah, we have end of all which has a very goth dark one of the darker books from the chispa verse uh in something very approachable, uh cloud break As well

[00:24:40] You know and so of course, you know these individuals are characters that have drawn from their uh, meso americans a birth sign and they're technically like our Chispa's, you know our version of newtons, but we can not even talking about no

[00:24:56] What's that? I don't know what that is These and so these are the visual characters with unique stories and backgrounds that are Together they're very young and so I know like

[00:25:10] Like heaven is working. Yeah, I mean we want to we want to highlight that it's it's our culture You know our people and connecting it with my am as american culture and just Putting up highlighting us, you know like the the three set of 13, right?

[00:25:23] So these are the characters that can tell our stories be our voices Right, it's so upcoming. We have a shaper too. And so a really great thing about these stories is that not also are they very unique with Uh, their narratives, but their art

[00:25:40] Is also very special. You have something more mainstream um Like more modern esque with uh gillagirl and then if you are looking for more, uh manga Characterization look at shaper that's coming out Next month and so If you're looking for something more goth more darker More

[00:26:06] Spanish you can look at and And so not also are these stories very unique but there are there are Dots themselves draw from a lot of different inspirations

[00:26:17] And that's one of the things I love about cheese buzz. We have such a variety of writers such a variety of artists All people from nathini that of course and and it's just it's really It's been beautiful watching it come together

[00:26:29] And I know we've got a little bit of our creator discord going on back and forth And I just love all of the support everybody's giving each other, you know, whatever a new picture drops

[00:26:36] And of course, we're all really excited for therry blast who is working on the the team-up book Once is all said after my issue comes out because mine's the very last one Yeah, the rest of the five and it's that story's um

[00:26:49] You know if you like teen titans if you Like those dc team-up Uh interactions, you know and if you like um that what was that x-men animated series that was early 2000s Gosh, it's not sorry. I don't I don't know that team x x Your mouth

[00:27:13] Wow, no because it was a what was it like the x-men evolution? Yeah Yeah, yeah By the way had a really dope Really dope Dope story arc when we see a future scott and future havoc

[00:27:30] His brother, you know when they're like basically become the omega versions of their abilities That still is ingrained in my brain. I love that that arc man. I'm sorry. It was good So I can have Should make something happen But I'm excited for these books because again

[00:27:45] It's us telling stories and we get to see where we go from here Learning about it from concept to actually seeing them and holding them is great So, you know, definitely check out a cheese boss

[00:27:55] Cheesebook comics and of course your local comic book store and just look out for these if you ask for them If you pre-order them that's how they get in on the shelves You know Majority them Through us

[00:28:12] Right. If you go to scout comics.com you can order them directly because again Cheesebook comics is an imprint within scout comics. So scout comics.com You can find all of these books and order them directly as well. I I appreciate that

[00:28:25] Yeah, it's something that we've been working with them, you know, and it's a Evolving relationship with scout comics. And so yeah, we've been yeah And so something that we really have pushed to have

[00:28:36] Um our books up front already for pre-order so that way you don't have to you can cut the middle man Because directly from the distributor from and have it delivered to your home as soon as they're out

[00:28:48] And you know, we have the cheese peppers or we also starting the our Arcad that could be in this caravan Hmm. Oh, yeah And so that's super exciting because we're doing something a really good story. That's actually happened developing the background practically by some time

[00:29:07] Um, actually it was uh, it's called the last That's basically what happened. So, uh, so the the caravan is an anthology You said a different writers each issue is just different a couple different writers is an art That's our anthology in each Uh story is a

[00:29:25] Different writer and then there's expansions on on black daemon as well. I'm really excited about right in our kaiju Of course, yeah And so the the a new story arc with black demon tales will be up a black demon descent It's coming out and if you're into

[00:29:45] If you're really excited about but you were if you're really excited about pacific rim, we have uh issue two involves mechs Fighting the black demon. And so that's something really exciting honestly. You can't have kaiju without mechs

[00:29:58] Yeah, I mean it goes hand in hand hand in hand. Well, I'm excited for the cheese peppers to grow Primus, of course Your fellow primus after creating and getting this stuff on the shelves. We want to talk about representation. We'll always talk about it

[00:30:12] Let's do it. Let's go support. Let's use them with that coin Okay, that's pretty much the primus. We are here. Of course the text is a demon comic con 2024 With guys from koi wolf So what's up to the primus everybody? What's up primus my primus podcast

[00:30:29] There you go Going on man. We know what house the con treated you guys this year What kind of attention have y'all gotten here much love I assume because your books are dope. I love the books How's it been so far?

[00:35:11] Oh, I didn't leave it alone Don't bring it up. She didn't know That's why I didn't say anything Don't let it be let it be let it breathe let it let it let it just

[00:35:22] Let it go into the hole into the hole. All right, let it go into the hole Kevin has to fill that hole Bring us back on so we can reincorporate that

[00:35:30] You know what hey, we dropped that at the party by the way. We were like yeah, I see it fills that hole It was it was brought up in conversation. It's catching on. All right. Um, let's bring it back. Need stickers Need stickers Look like

[00:35:46] It's just Kevin. I want the last sandy They said like like when you was like when you hit it with the mallet like a little Oh my god, what are those the whack-a-mole? But it's Kevin jumping out and it's like me hitting with a hammer

[00:35:58] There you go. That'd be a good like like set screen. You're hammering me into the hole Amen, whatever it takes to get you into that hole Hammer willpower It's a tight love bloodlust Here we go. Welcome back primos Thanks for hanging in there with us

[00:36:18] I feel like we've been out of practice, you know, because it's been gone for so long like You know, there's what it was like a gap of like two three weeks. We saw each other Yeah, I got crazy so fast

[00:36:29] You know, it's crazy that we saw each other and we only have like one or two pictures with each other Everybody's one of my phew by running around doing the best pictures At the best pictures, but it's funny, you know

[00:36:41] Uh, we talk about you know, we're into fandom We enjoy reading watching everything especially when it comes to just geeking out and mr. Kevin Garcia Of course Kevin Kevin Garcia underscore calm on tiktok

[00:36:54] Had a video come out that I want to kind of touch on. I mean if you listen to this show Marvel announced at San Diego comic con international well, whatever Can we call Texas Latino comic con international and make it sound like bigger than what it is?

[00:37:10] We have people Yeah, he can't come through International texas you know comic con I like that Kevin. Make it happen international texas latino comic con. No better yet keep Texas in front texas you know comic con hyphen international Yeah, we're gonna need a bit of

[00:37:33] But but after that a week after that uh, San Diego comic con was happening I had tickets to go. I had badges to go but I did not go this year because I didn't I didn't budget for it

[00:37:41] Other things going on just as well because I ended up getting covet anyway. So um, but Marvel made their big announcement Which was only about the movies that didn't talk about the the tv shows really and there's I can tell and obviously there were some

[00:37:54] Complicant announcements nobody talked about those Um, and then with the movies that the big thing is number one Deadpool had the biggest r-rated opening ever Deadpool and wolverine and then number two Dr. Doom is coming to the marvel universe and he has a

[00:38:10] Let's talk let's stop there. Remember I said I am ready for doom right kang stuff happened We understand that that comes pulled out. I said it will be doom and I said that we can go back There's recorded conversations And superfan

[00:38:27] And I said that I even told you that in the stories that that doom usually comes after kang Like kang will show up and then doom will like wipe up wipe the floor with him and then take over Yes, but this is what I said now

[00:38:39] I was excited when I saw the announcement. I was freaking out when I saw multiple dooms And I'm like their doom box. This is awesome. This is a good announcement here and yet They removed the face of the main doom Or at least we think the main

[00:38:55] Flat-out said this is victor They flat-out said Right i'm trying to be as Uh control my my reaction because I'll be real with you And everybody will chime in here

[00:39:13] That man it's the joke. It's like it's the joke that's being used not only for this but for Deadpool Like he's there until he's 90 like Robert Downey Jr. Cannot leave marvel or disney like he has chained to a wall And he has to come back

[00:39:25] To be enjoying it though, like it's I don't feel like they've had to bend his arm to do it I feel it's more like I want to come back. What do you want to do to make me come back?

[00:39:32] You know, I feel like it's him doing that too. Yeah, I think He's like sweet at disney now like it's just he's he owns disney now Listen to the room is just rdj room now

[00:39:41] That's why they laid off 140 people this week. So they get a Ford Robert Downey Jr. Yeah, like if you want tt But no, I don't know. I don't know Me yeah, what are you?

[00:39:57] Uh, I mean, so I'm I'm not like big in the marvel universe, but I'm very much like he's already there I'm like killian murphy wasn't free like

[00:40:08] Yeah, I don't know. Daniel Day Lewis would be interesting. Um, so I I have been told that I am big in the marvel universe um, but Yes, so within like an hour or two of the announcement

[00:40:19] I had a video posted about uh a version of the multiverse where Tony Stark is doom essentially and what's really hilarious is like half the comments are just

[00:40:32] Uh, what a weird question is this came out right when this announcement happened or wow the timing of this is great I'm like, you'd almost think that was the reason I posted it. That's right You can thank you can thank your marketing manager at spice illustrations. Uh,

[00:40:47] But uh, it's my first video to get a million views which is interesting Which also means I got a lot of unwelcome comments. Uh, I mentioned that at the conclusion of that storyline They introduced and killed off a brand new lgbt superhero

[00:41:02] And literally I had to it's a go in and block 20 to 30 people just because all their comment was just well, you had to mention the lgbt agenda and i'm like

[00:41:13] Literally, I just said that he like and at least one person asked why does that have to be his main description? I'm like, that's literally how he was introduced. He was introduced as he is a gay hero, you know That was basically it um

[00:41:24] But uh, so that happened But the thing is is that even though I posted that in another video about these two different alternate realities where doom and iron man basically look the same

[00:41:34] I don't think it's a good idea either. Uh, I disagree that rdj should not come back though I've always said that he needed to come back for secret wars ideally as an alternate reality version So peter parker can have a new goodbye or something, you know, be fine

[00:41:47] um, but I would have loved to see them like a cameo right you say secret wars or Or even just just the fact that we see a glimpse of him, you know, like a little cameo is a good nod, right?

[00:41:59] But to take on a whole new role now. Don't get me wrong talented actor not denying it whatsoever I enjoy his act. Oh, he could definitely do it. I mean he got an oscar recently, right? Yeah, he was great in oppenheimer and

[00:42:10] My my biggest thing was just like You you couldn't find anybody else like I get it I get it that and they're hiding behind behind comic book Kind of like forgive me kevin from his speaking blasphemy here

[00:42:24] They're hiding behind the comic books where hey in the comics this can happen. Well, shit in comics a snail could be doomed But it doesn't mean you have to do it. You know what I mean? There's literally a reality in which a duck is doomed

[00:42:35] There's another reality in which a tyrannosaurus doom, which is honestly pretty great. Um, they should have cast that guy So the aft black duck lost a job. Yes, exactly. Aft black duck was like in line waiting for addition Like the aft black duck

[00:42:54] I would read how to do how are the two hours to do But kekler, what did you think man? I mean, uh, what did you think about the announcement? I think it's the bait and switch, you know, it's definitely

[00:43:05] I think it's you know, they're they're showing their hands right now But you know, narrow within the narrative the there's going to be a huge twist somewhere You know, which is our real dr. Doom the dr. Doom they're going to be using for a fantastic for for future

[00:43:22] story arcs with you know with Galactus or any other, you know X numbers of adventures with fantastic form in the middle and Dr. Doom You know, I feel I feel like what you said is right

[00:43:34] Like they're gonna have like a doom on the fantastic force earth because they've already established a separate reality And that doom will see his reality being destroyed to send his mind to a different reality take over tony stark, you know I could see that happen

[00:43:47] Marvel pay this man Pay this man. He has a story The big issue for a lot of fans and and i'm part of this group is that while I honestly feel Silly and murphy and a lot of other people could do a great job at very old man

[00:44:08] A lot of fans are like, you know they have the roma is a persecuted minority throughout europe and They've already had several romani characters that have all been casted with with just normal white actors normal That's not right with with american or british white actors

[00:44:27] Um, why not have a romani actor play the most prominent romani role? Uh in the marvel universe and the argument of course being well, okay I find like hey, there's a lot of actors out there who are waiting for their chance, you know Yeah

[00:44:45] I mean the reason things like the multiverse are exciting is because we see those variants We see something interesting right? I get it right but it's also like And they make in no spoilers here, but they do kind of uh

[00:44:57] Play with that in the Deadpool films right and so they do and that's fine I know we'll touch a little bit on it here, but like you You can't dare sex machina everything because it's a multiverse thing like it just kind of like it's lazy and it feels

[00:45:10] As a fan you kind of go like come on man. You can write something better than they just say hey they were from In the dance and smacking up make it part of the plot. I know rick and morty has kind of

[00:45:23] Lost its flavor with a lot of people because of the toxic fandom But part of the appeal of it originally was that you had a character that said nothing mattered because I could always go to another reality

[00:45:34] And that started out as a joke and became a psychological like like impediment to the character And in the comics that was america chavez's main issue at the beginning And it took a long time before her friends helped her get over it

[00:45:46] Um, and in the the movie america chavez was just a happy-go-lucky, you know kids So no problem there, but but if they're gonna do this whole multiverse thing Make it part of the emotional story. Don't just have it be

[00:46:00] A gimmick which I'll be honest. That's what Deadpool Wolverine was I mean the not the whole movie necessarily but like, you know what? I want to really quick my partner did a great review of uh, Deadpool Wolverine. It's a very short review

[00:46:13] I put it on on I think letterbox. It just says Deadpool Wolverine is a series of bits in a trench coat And I was like that is the best description of that movie But it's all the jokes and the in the complaints that the fans

[00:46:30] Have had on this that they kind of just brought them to the forefront put them on screen To appease us right because I'm one of those guys eventually. I'm like even we before we watched the film We had breakfast and we even said like man, like

[00:46:43] Yeah, you know because we wanted to you know not start the day right $10 to $10 for popcorn come on Although inside of a wolverine head that has a giant mouth. I would get that popcorn I'm gonna spend money on the alien The alien the xenomorph skull

[00:47:00] Oh the xenomorph skull That one there because the alien I'm excited for the next month, but I mean the rgj thing like you said Hector I mentioned it a lot and I said it's a doom bot. There's a red herring Like he's gonna end up not being

[00:47:16] The the main baddie right we're gonna get a different version of doom that comes just pulling the strings from far away And with fantastic for with doom And secret wars coming we're gonna get no more like that's just inevitable

[00:47:28] I feel like that's gonna come through and Kevin may have different thoughts on it, but it's it lines it up I mean we'll go into the comics not more often is an ally of doom, but almost always unwittingly So that would be interesting

[00:47:41] The other big thing that people were talking about with especially with Deadpool Is that we got Deadpool movie? We had the X-Men cameo and marvels Um, and we've got some other stuff coming up. I think and the idea here is

[00:47:53] We could see the the big impetus of they at the beginning of the most recent secret war storyline in the comics Was two realities clashing and I could see the fox verse and the mcu Having a big battle, you know just kickoff secret wars that'd be interesting

[00:48:06] It'd be fun I'm hoping that x-men do transition well and that way we can get excited about that again And you know with Deadpool and Wolverine and and how that showed that that audience is ready to have them

[00:48:18] Merge, you know, so I'm excited for that. We'll see where it goes I'm not 100 on board with the rdj thing, but like Hector said it may just be just a bait and switch, you know, we may just get a completely different thing Yeah

[00:48:36] I feel like they're showing a lot of their cards because like okay So so my partner said you can't have the main villain of the movie Not be not let the audience know who the cast who the actor is going to be true

[00:48:47] But as somebody else pointed out, I don't remember who right now At the they could have done that in a post credit scene And have revealed dr. Doom of who it is And then then you announce by the way rdj is going to be this way

[00:49:01] They could have that a reveal in a movie where he's not in the credits, you know what I mean Yeah, at the same time other people point out doom in the comics Never takes off his mask 99% of the time in his mask is off. He's in shadows

[00:49:15] Because he's supposed to be all scarred up which says okay, so if it takes off his mask you wouldn't recognize him anyway But they're not going to cast rdj and not have a moment where spider-man can say you look like tony, you know

[00:49:26] They're not going to do that. So like even if he's scarred they're going to know he looks like tony Like at some point it's going to happen, you know Well, we'll see where we end up with it here and but you know I think that

[00:49:39] We get kind of not overwhelmed but we a lot of things find out the radar we kind of ignore, right? Uh one thing that I wanted to touch on is you know, and none of you guys I just spring it on you here

[00:49:50] the hellboy the new hellboy was announced too and It just doesn't look good and it's okay. Listen. Um, I I agree but It is purposely low budget

[00:50:04] It is it is written by mike mignolo the creator of hellboy and he just wanted to do a tight low budget horror story Starring hellboy and you know what power to him, you know the idea that he can have a series of movies

[00:50:14] You know, no, I mean like the last one wasn't him the last one was the studio saying Hey, we have the rights to hellboy. We're gonna make a hellboy and nobody liked it

[00:50:22] This one is mike mignola saying I want to tell the story and i'm like, you know what power to him, you know Like I I I wish we all had indie comic characters that we could just make our movies out of you know what I mean

[00:50:33] So I can't fault it for looking cheap because it is cheap You know, but then if we get a series of hellboy movies that just randomly like they don't necessarily connect to each other

[00:50:43] But each tell a different story, which is what hellboy comics are like to be honest that would be pretty neat Also Yeah, that's always gonna be the comparison. What would say? Oh no high high uh like high cost cinema has been so exhausting lately that's true too, so

[00:51:02] Because it's a comparison right? It doesn't look as good but story wise I said Yeah, I'm a thorough man. Like that's just not gonna happen Oh We are here at Texas Latino Comic Con 2024 and um, I'd like to just introduce everybody too

[00:51:32] Films now we have some images here queen tell us what is little spark films And what are you all about and kind of just give everybody a heads up if we can look out for more of yourself

[00:51:43] We are a film company based in Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. We focus on independent horror films So if you like blood and guts, we all do Okay, some people don't apparently I do

[00:51:56] All about it. Um, and then um on our table here we have some posters for moving the torture It is available on um amazon 9 Um What you can watch any of those places it's 40 minutes on Filmed it here in Dallas It stars Paul T. Taylor

[00:52:18] Of uh, he's pinhead and hellraiser judgment. Oh cool. And then Lawrence Benado who is Also in uh, Sin City of Damien Kilcour Breaking Bad. He's awesome And also we have some posters here for um our latest project called Death World

[00:52:39] What is death world about horror comedy? So we have some props here too from that we used when we were filming it That's currently a post production Amazing Cool, and where can people find you online on social media?

[00:52:58] Just so they can support and really put the effort behind the primus and supporting everybody and what they're doing Awesome. Yeah, we are uh our website is littlesparkfilms.net And then uh, we're all on all of the social media. So the LinkedIn the

[00:53:14] Twitter um, I refuse to call it by its other name. Yeah, I get you Instagram Tiktok And it's all out also all of our social media pages. They're different. It's different content Oh, okay on our tiktok. There's a lot of stuff that isn't on

[00:53:28] The so it's worth following on every platform. So yeah, yeah We kind of try to mix it up and also we both are like really neurodivergent. So

[00:53:36] You know, it's always a surprise. Trust me. I don't need to sleep at night. I just need to scroll and I'll be okay I mean to be okay Definitely, I mean I'm loving the vibe and uh, I'm definitely gonna check it out primus. Check it out as well

[00:53:50] Little spark films Oh So asky asky, it's the father primus out there. Hey, what's going on primus? Definitely asky, you know, we're excited because I wear a team asky here in my primus podcast And we are excited to see your match today defending the title

[00:54:36] You know, what's been the the reception here this year 2024? How the fans have been treating you You know what the reception here is amazing every year. I think this convention gets bigger better and It's just it's above that Expectation on level what they're trying to put out there

[00:55:00] And I mean, I'm just I'm just for just for by everybody that keeps coming every year This year. I mean, I've had people you know coming in and telling me hey, I saw you last year

[00:55:10] I'm so excited about this year and it's just it just really really touches my heart for it What can the fans expect today as far as a match is concerned?

[00:55:18] What where's your head at as a champ? What can we expect from you and their defender title as a champ? I'm ready. You know, I'm always ready to defend my title Not this

[00:55:31] But this one right now it means the most not only because I'm here at the comic car but also it's uh, it's uh, it's just a way to Project what the Latinos have done up to this year

[00:55:43] So as a champion, I'm ready. I'm ready to step in the ring. I'm ready to face Bengali I'm ready to face Hector finally after two years of him running around wanting to be a wrestler We're finally he is going to put his money

[00:56:00] His money or his mouth. Yeah. Yeah, boo that best of hero But we're team oski here and we appreciate you taking the time chatting with us can't wait for that match

[00:56:10] I'm gonna take the footage there. We're gonna make sure we record this for historical accuracy. We still have our champion Thank you. Ask his all way. I appreciate you and everyone stay tuned. There's a lot more coming up

[00:56:22] Remember if you want to look me up look me up as asky aski. I got ballomino Facebook Thank you. Asky is always But we must uh, you know here close to the end of the show usually bring up something that we've been kind of into

[00:56:50] Obsessing over kind of just in love with the fandom. We're just kind of obsessed with this week Uh, it's been a little bit. We've had a little gap but Let's start with uh, Mr. Hector

[00:57:01] What's something that you kind of been into recently that kind of you know, hey, you should keep an eye for this read watch listen to You know, let the pretty much know Yeah, so I've been reading. I've been really into the energon verse You know the trend

[00:57:19] Void rivals within the comic books and They are just going through my backlog like reading out what's coming children to And you know going through my books and watching gift from or any thing you know, we stream Boys

[00:57:39] The accolade finished that. I mean that's questionable. We can have a whole show for the accolade. Yes. Yeah for sure right Things push that I mean, yeah, there's a conversation to be had I even had a baby argument

[00:57:53] With chikume about the boys and some episodes that we yeah, so there's a whole thing there So much conversation about the boys. Have it watched it but like man I dropped it after the first season I'll you know talking about alien everyone

[00:58:08] You know video gaming playing alien isolation Again, I can't find the game right just upcoming for alien out. No, but uh That's about it. You know just you know putting you know writing a lot of a lot of writing for Cheesebound 2 and

[00:58:25] He has really big reveals coming up Yeah, oh it's too. Yeah something that is you know tied to Much mas film as well big Oh, so films from much a must

[00:58:38] Yeah, I mean because you're connected with that and I know you're writing and creating kind of getting your voice out there With a lot of the books and and not just in one facet but you know multimedia, right? You kind of have your hand in everything

[00:58:49] Yeah, you know and also working on new apostle heroes. So keep an eye out for that too as well Hell yeah, awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Um, Elia. What about you? What have you been kind of into? Are you being in con mode the last Yeah

[00:59:05] The downside or the one thing you're kind of into right now Yeah, so um tv show wise i'm catching up on jojo's bizarre adventure. Um as your representative anime latina Um, I we we finished season three got it was so rough

[00:59:20] It was awful, but now we're on golden win season four and it's like 10 times better. It's so good Um for anyone who doesn't know jojo. It's literally a bizarre adventure. I call it. I call it like a violent

[00:59:33] Buff robot telenovela. That's what it is very much amazing poses Oh my god, then the art. Oh so good, but um, no it's getting really interesting right now

[00:59:44] It takes place in italy at this time and so good. Um, so that's what i've been watching. I've been reading or have read Um, I don't know if I mentioned it. I can't remember how long it's been since we recorded

[00:59:56] But I've been all of lora limpus in two and a half days. Yeah, you mentioned it. Wow Yeah, so and i'm I finished it and i'm rereading it again because I love it

[01:00:05] Oh my god. Oh my god. I don't know how it took me so long to find this series Honestly, it took me a while to I I'd heard about it since the beginning, but I waited a while to get into it And i'm glad I did

[01:00:15] My wife told me she wanted to read it and pick it up I just never pulled the trigger and I see you posting about it people talking about it But now I gotta jump on that bandwagon. I even made it a fan art. Let's talk

[01:00:26] Yeah, I'm gonna be making a print of it for san japan So if y'all are gonna be at san japan in san anthonio come see me

[01:00:32] So I'll have that and then gaming wise I haven't been gaming, but I like to watch a lot of uh, like let's plays Since I don't have time to game But um, I've been really enjoying the game grumps right now playing a market simulator

[01:00:46] It's it's a silly game that you'd never think would be so entertaining But you basically run a supermarket and it gets so stressful and hilarious So if you just want to pass time I'm angry I'm angry at game Oh, no

[01:01:02] for stupid reason uh because there is the the Hardest to find it hardest to play zelda game ever made was made by the phillips company But the only time zelda is all the time Nintendo would ever licensed out their projects

[01:01:17] And it is one of the worst games in history is almost unplayable Yeah They were zelda too. Yeah. No zelda is great So they were going to they they actually played through those games and I was watching them because I was like

[01:01:29] I own the games, but like I'm never gonna play them because no one has a system anymore Yeah, and I'm like, all right. This is the only way I'm ever gonna see the ending of this game

[01:01:36] They get about 75 percent through with the way through it and they're like, this is just too mentally exhausting We can't continue we'll go pick it up later and they've yet to pick it up I'm waiting for the Just tweet at them

[01:01:50] But no other than that, um, I've been focusing on I finished coloring princess atako, which is my my graphic novel So it's done. It's colored So I start typesetting next weekend. Yo if there's any publishers that want a silly chikana

[01:02:05] comic every publisher should have a silly chikana comic and it should be Take on at spice illustrations But yeah, that's what I'm busy with right now Well, um For me, uh, I've been kind of jumping around different media here and there

[01:02:24] Um, not fully caught up on the kiss bet, but I've been reading a lot of it and I still say fucking Patrick Can you see oh get more aggressive?

[01:02:32] The the chapter that released last week get ready. Oh my god. I'm like too behind that. I'm almost there literally I'm assuming elia you're talking about like the paid chapter like the extra ones, right?

[01:02:44] Yeah, I haven't caught up to those yet. So I'm like, okay, I've paid coin Although I would think I've paid coin Ingrid I'm paying coins There are two different web comics. I've been following that both have the other woman in the in the in the group

[01:03:00] Named uh sky who is black and I'm like that's interesting like what are the odds Interesting, but I've been reading that still, uh, of course, uh, what I've been watching

[01:03:10] I've been watching this anime came out a couple years ago. I didn't catch my eye until recently the rising of shield hero Um, it has three seasons and it's a really different take on the isekai kind of uh deal, right where they get transferred to another world

[01:03:23] Um, the pitch is pretty much that uh these characters four characters show up at the same time They're all legendary heroes that are supposed to help save this kingdom, right? But this is the first time that they have

[01:03:35] Some of them at the same time they usually summon one at a time because They need to be able to kind of manage them kind of honestly kind of control them puppet strings Because they're super powerful, you know, they're they're really they're you know uber or whatever

[01:03:48] And in this scenario countries had called dibs on each one But one country in particular went ahead and took all of them Which started like this like internal like struggle and war between all of the the countries And sadly the shield hero immediately gets framed for a crime

[01:04:07] He they he's treated badly the whole time all the other heroes get priority when it comes to party members To money to equipment to herbs. This guy has to literally grind The hardest out of anybody else because he doesn't have an attacking weapon

[01:04:21] It's a shield. It's under, you know, kind of a feel to shield what's that going to do? But it turns out that because of this struggle that he has to go through He ends up being the most powerful one of all out of all of them

[01:04:31] And it kind of touches on those terms of hey, no one's going to hand you anything You're gonna have to work for it no matter what and He he overcomes like a lot of internal struggle when it comes to

[01:04:42] Am I going to make up with these people? Am I really going to help? Am I looking out for myself? It's a great great writing. Um, it's dubbed out. It's dubbed by this point. It came out three or four years ago

[01:04:52] So if you're not into sub it's dubbed definitely check that out and Video game wise I've been I've been playing a lot of the first descendant. I don't know if you guys are into that or not The first descendant is a free to play um

[01:05:06] massively multiplayer game it's a shooter kind of like a mix between I want to say final fantasy and um Oh my god But what's that game that bungee made that everybody used to play back in the day? Not halo the other one the other one Oh

[01:05:21] Not anthem that was yeah, I'm blanking Um, um They do raids they're free to play you can jump on a play and Or no no It's the team fortress No, team fortress is gonna update by the way, but no Oh my god

[01:05:44] I have always been playing video games lately Please Kevin go ahead But but um because I'm excited about the new Zelda game coming out pretty soon So I'm finally going back and beating the Zelda games that I've never beat before which is specifically

[01:05:58] Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons And I am remembering why I never beat them before. Oh, no. They are so insanely hard Um, it's either like you have to do pixel perfect landings on things or It's like an an insane puzzle what literally one room is just

[01:06:19] Turn all the tiles from yellow to red, but you have to figure out exactly which path will actually let you do that. It is So aggravating, but I'm finally on the the the final leans game boss. Oh also frustrated about that game

[01:06:34] There's three potential companion animals you could have But the it the game doesn't tell you Which one you can get So I really wanted to get the giant blue bear that has little tiny wings because he's adorable But then when I looked when I wasn't getting him

[01:06:52] So I looked up how to get him and it said if you do this one thing earlier in the game That will never let you get him and I did that one thing and I was like I so then I thought well, it's two games

[01:07:02] So after when I get to the second game, then I'll get him what turns out when I went to the second game It said well, here's your link there's over first game and I was like Boo The game is a destiny

[01:07:16] Oh, okay. So it's like destiny and final fantasy It's it's fast-paced. It's uh, it's lewd draft like crazy like borderlands. Yeah, which makes me a movie of that too It's great game. It's a grind. Uh, it's fun. It's jump in jump out

[01:07:31] You can play for 10 15 minutes with random people You don't have to communicate like chat you just jump in do the objectives jump out It doesn't it's seamless. You don't have to like wait for a cue. It literally hits join

[01:07:42] You jump in you're there you're running around and it'll teleport you to the even to Say a lot of destiny when it came on our ps4 back when they had the loop cave the cave Glitch, you know That same one. Yeah

[01:07:58] Yeah, I've been doing that just reading gaming. Um, just kind of a You know trying to just enjoy some free time. I know we've all kind of dealt with a lot here in the last few weeks

[01:08:07] And people remember take some time for yourselves. You know, take some time So we recommend these things so you can like enjoy what we're enjoying talk about it and just kind of you know enjoy plus

[01:08:17] So let's say I'm hooked on 9-1-1 because I watch it like every night like it's like I don't blame you It's it's insane man And I watched I tried watching the bear, you know, because the bear was great

[01:08:28] Like a good show to watch the new season of the bear Kind of sucks. I've heard that I don't really follow the bear, but I've been hearing that a lot for people to do

[01:08:37] It kind of sucks and I was like this is kind of sucky and then we went back to watch 9-1-1 and just enjoyed it Imagine you end your evening. You
