Primos, if you're into gritty superhero tales that blend the chaos of The Boys, the noir vibes of Sin City, and the offbeat charm of Monsters Are My Business, then Minor Threats is a must-read.
This creator-owned series comes from the minds of Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum, yes, the same duo behind Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. with dynamic artwork by Scott Hepburn and vibrant colors by Ian Herring.
Set in Twilight City, the story kicks off when the psychotic villain Stickman murders Kid Dusk, sidekick to the city's top hero, the Insomniac. This act plunges the city into chaos, as the Insomniac and his team, the Continuum, launch a brutal crackdown on all villains. Caught in the crossfire is Frankie Follis, aka Playtime ,a former villain striving for a normal life. To survive, she assembles a ragtag crew of C-list villains to take down Stickman themselves.

The world-building here is top-notch. From dive bars for D-list villains to districts scarred by past battles, every panel oozes history and character. Hepburn's art is both flashy and grimy, perfectly capturing the story's tone, while Herring's colors add depth and mood.
What sets Minor Threats apart is its focus on the "little guys" the career criminals who usually get overshadowed. The narrative blurs the lines between heroes and villains, challenging our perceptions of morality in a world where the so-called "good guys" aren't always

However, while the series offers fresh perspectives, the theme of corrupt heroes has been explored extensively in recent years. That said, the unique characters and unexpected twists keep the story engaging.
Final Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 out of 5 stars)
Minor Threats delivers a compelling, character-driven narrative that breathes new life into the superhero genre. It's a wild ride that leaves you eager for the next installment. Definitely worth picking up, primos.
