[00:00:00] What's up, Primos, Primas, and Primes? Welcome to my, My Primos, My Primos, My Primo Podcast. My name is Freddy. My name is Kevin Garcia. My name is Elia Maria Matriz. This is Chukuma, whenever I can make it. My Primos Podcast discusses all things fandom and pop culture. From comics, movies, to whatever obsession we have this week. But with the Latine, Latine, Latine perspective. Remember, we're all Primos. We're all Primos. We're all Primos. No matter what part of the world we're from.

[00:00:37] What's up, Primos, Primas, and Primes? Welcome to the final episode of this season of My Primos Podcast. My name is Primo Freddy and with me tonight are my primos and yours. We have Mr. Kevin Garcia.com.

[00:00:51] Yo. What's up, Kevin? What's up, Kevin? We have Miss Elia Maria Matriz. Not even a comment.

[00:01:06] Primo, which is like the Windy State. I don't know. What is it called?

[00:01:09] The Windy State.

[00:01:10] Mr. John.

[00:01:11] That one.

[00:01:12] Say what's up, John.

[00:01:13] What's up, John.

[00:01:15] Hey.

[00:01:15] Hey, and of course, hosting us as always, as most of the time, Primo Freddy. Say what's up, Primo Freddy.

[00:01:22] What's up, Primo Freddy? There you go, guys.

[00:01:24] Excellent, excellent, excellent, excellent, excellent, excellent.

[00:01:26] I joined it. I joined it. I did it.

[00:01:28] One of us. One of us.

[00:01:30] One of us. Here we are. We are at the end of the season.

[00:01:32] We had a little break in between because, you know, the holidays and stuff and things and the world.

[00:01:39] The world. Lack of a better word. Be real with you. Got points in the gut.

[00:01:44] Yeah.

[00:01:45] Pretty tough.

[00:01:46] Push.

[00:01:47] We will move forward. We will look out for each other and we will be more sensitive.

[00:01:52] I don't want to get into conversation about it, but I will say even though it's going to be worse than last time,

[00:01:57] somehow it didn't hit me as hard because I guess I was kind of prepared for it emotionally.

[00:02:01] I don't know.

[00:02:03] I got blindsided. I was like kicking the stomach. I was like, where did that come from? Like what?

[00:02:08] And then people start coming out of the woodwork like you did what? Why?

[00:02:12] Like you who? Like I thought I knew you.

[00:02:15] It's like Latinos?

[00:02:16] That was the hard part.

[00:02:17] Yeah.

[00:02:17] Dude, my own therapist.

[00:02:21] I'm going to.

[00:02:22] Wait, seriously?

[00:02:23] Seriously.

[00:02:24] Seriously.

[00:02:24] My own therapist.

[00:02:25] Had to fire my therapist.

[00:02:27] Wow.

[00:02:28] That's intense.

[00:02:30] Yeah.

[00:02:31] I had to stop hanging out with a good friend of mine that I thought was reasonable.

[00:02:37] But sadly, it just kind of became a conversation like, hey man, like even my son had it at school.

[00:02:44] Some of his friends were like touting that.

[00:02:45] So the next day they were wearing the MAGA hat and they were, you know, they were spitting stuff.

[00:02:51] And my son was like, I'm not digging this now.

[00:02:53] I don't like this.

[00:02:54] And he kind of just literally just kind of.

[00:02:55] And you're in Fort Worth.

[00:02:57] Shit's nastier over there.

[00:02:58] Yeah, it really is.

[00:03:00] You know, people ask me, why do I have some of these kind of people on my friends list?

[00:03:03] Because I got a couple on my Facebook and there's a reason for it.

[00:03:06] It's so I can see what their conversation is.

[00:03:08] Yeah.

[00:03:09] Simple as that.

[00:03:10] And I can guarantee they're not listening to this, so they won't even notice.

[00:03:13] Cool.

[00:03:14] No, but that was, that was a whole thing.

[00:03:16] That was a whole like two weeks of like, I felt like I, I felt like I had a really bad hangover.

[00:03:21] Like I was just kind of like always like, oh, like a weird taste in my mouth.

[00:03:25] I was going to have a stroke.

[00:03:27] I was like, this is, this is, this is weird.

[00:03:28] But it was just disappointment.

[00:03:30] Yeah.

[00:03:31] Disappointment.

[00:03:31] I was deleting people like crazy.

[00:03:33] I was like, all right, you're done.

[00:03:34] You're done.

[00:03:35] Yeah.

[00:03:37] Yeah.

[00:03:37] I legitimately had a stomach issue.

[00:03:40] Now, admittedly, it was so much worse because of the news.

[00:03:44] Yeah.

[00:03:45] And I probably wouldn't have been doubling over in pain.

[00:03:47] But I mean, I, I did not want to call in sick the next day at work, but I had to call in sick the next day at work.

[00:03:51] Oh, I didn't either.

[00:03:52] I had to be in the office, like a person.

[00:03:55] I was like, oh, no, it's, it's tough, man.

[00:03:58] And it's crazy to move past this here.

[00:04:01] But it's crazy how emboldened people are.

[00:04:04] My wife works in retail and someone just approached her.

[00:04:08] Like my wife said, she noticed that people were on their best behavior.

[00:04:12] They were almost waiting to see what we would do.

[00:04:15] Like they were just like, I like people that voted that way.

[00:04:19] Trying to get, trying to see if they get a rise out of people.

[00:04:21] Yeah.

[00:04:22] And they can get like, kind of to see like what's going on.

[00:04:23] Like, am I going to get you mad?

[00:04:25] Am I going to say something, upset you?

[00:04:26] And she said that people were like almost like baiting people to get into these like altercations.

[00:04:32] And she's like, yeah, I can't.

[00:04:34] And thankfully nothing happened.

[00:04:35] And we'll move forward from this, but it's upsetting, but we move on.

[00:04:38] We move on because at the end of the day, we have each other to lean on.

[00:04:42] Primos, I want to just, um, go ahead, John.

[00:04:45] No, the Primos is what it's all about.

[00:04:47] That's all I was going to say.

[00:04:48] We're here to have some fun.

[00:04:49] Enjoy the last episode here of the season.

[00:04:52] Um, Primos, remember, of course, you can follow us all year long.

[00:04:56] We take a small break here for the holidays, but all year long at my Primos podcast and

[00:05:01] myprimospodcast.com.

[00:05:01] And remember, just check in on each other.

[00:05:03] That's my biggest thing from this because you never know what happens.

[00:05:06] The winter and the holiday season are these days where people just kind of, some people

[00:05:10] don't have Primos to hang out with, but no Primos, you have us, hit us up, listen to

[00:05:14] us, laugh with us.

[00:05:15] I'm going to be online here and there, but don't shy away from it.

[00:05:18] Okay.

[00:05:18] Don't feel like you can't reach out.

[00:05:20] We're the Primos of the world.

[00:05:22] Yeah.

[00:05:22] Primos of the world.

[00:05:25] I want to start off tonight.

[00:05:26] We have a lot of things to cover, right?

[00:05:27] We have John here visiting as well, but I want to cover Elia relations on your Kickstarter.

[00:05:33] Thank you.

[00:05:34] I have an inkling was successful.

[00:05:36] I had an inkling it would be successful.

[00:05:38] I didn't at the end.

[00:05:40] Oh, I know that feeling so well.

[00:05:41] I know that feeling so well.

[00:05:43] Tell us.

[00:05:44] What was that like?

[00:05:46] Oh my God, it was stressful.

[00:05:47] I mean, first, like going into it, I felt great.

[00:05:51] Like, I was like, this is doable.

[00:05:53] This is definitely something that I can get done.

[00:05:56] But what I didn't take into account for, cause I'm, I'll ping it back real quick.

[00:06:01] The election happened and I wasn't expecting it to go the way it did.

[00:06:05] So it literally like, it was like a punch to my gut.

[00:06:09] I didn't have motivation to like promote.

[00:06:11] I didn't, I was like, dude, this just happened.

[00:06:13] And I'm like, Oh, here's my little comic.

[00:06:15] Ha ha ha.

[00:06:16] I just, I wasn't in it.

[00:06:17] And I'm sure everyone could tell I wasn't in it.

[00:06:19] But at the end of the day, I was like, no, I have to keep going.

[00:06:22] Have to keep promoting.

[00:06:24] I have to keep talking about it.

[00:06:25] I had my, my charity streams throughout the month too.

[00:06:28] And so I thankfully kept talking about it.

[00:06:30] And I think just the power of the community, both my Twitch community, um, the, the Primos

[00:06:35] community, just all the different communities.

[00:06:37] And then of course, like I had, um, Anthony Wheeler, who's another artist on Twitch.

[00:06:41] He, he was able to like bring me onto the show and, uh, we, we just had fun and promoted

[00:06:46] it.

[00:06:46] And I don't know.

[00:06:48] It was just, it, at like, I was, it was like the day, the day before we hit the goal

[00:06:55] and I was going to bed and I'm like, you know, we might not make the goal.

[00:07:02] That is definitely a possibility.

[00:07:03] This probably isn't going to get made, but the fact that there's 45 people who backed

[00:07:10] it, that's saying like, I have 45 people who, who support me.

[00:07:15] They believe in you.

[00:07:16] Yeah.

[00:07:16] Who truly believe it's something that I made.

[00:07:18] And it wasn't just like the lower half.

[00:07:20] It was like, we were already like almost there.

[00:07:22] So it's like, if this doesn't get made, what's to say that the community won't be there to

[00:07:28] support me on future projects.

[00:07:30] You know, like I've got Princesa Taco coming up.

[00:07:32] I'm, I'm finishing up or not finishing up.

[00:07:34] I'm starting my next book project this month, illustrating it like, and this community, all

[00:07:40] the people who have, have been around this project, pledging and supporting and sharing, even the

[00:07:44] ones who couldn't pledge, I see the shared posts.

[00:07:47] I see y'all.

[00:07:48] I see y'all the, like, I wouldn't be where I'm at right now without that support.

[00:07:53] So no matter what had happened, I'm like, I've got a good community and support system in

[00:07:59] my creative journey.

[00:08:00] So no matter what happens, I need to be okay with that.

[00:08:03] And then we hit the goal the next day and I was like, oh my God.

[00:08:07] It's funny.

[00:08:08] I was out with friends celebrating one of my friend's birthdays.

[00:08:11] And I told myself, I'm not looking at it all day because I want this to be her birthday.

[00:08:16] But I had my phone turned up as we were playing a game and the little email came in, you

[00:08:20] reached your goal.

[00:08:21] And I looked down, I'm like, oh my God.

[00:08:23] And they're like, what?

[00:08:24] I'm like, nothing.

[00:08:24] No, no, no, no, nothing.

[00:08:25] And they're like, no, no, no.

[00:08:27] We all took shots.

[00:08:28] It was awesome.

[00:08:29] I remember when mine hit my goal, I think it was like, it didn't feel real at first.

[00:08:33] I was like, yeah, I'm going to check this later to confirm.

[00:08:36] Like I just couldn't.

[00:08:37] It was just because it's, it was so sorry.

[00:08:40] I have a sinus infection.

[00:08:41] I'm so sorry.

[00:08:42] Yeah.

[00:08:42] You should be sorry.

[00:08:43] How dare you have a sinus infection?

[00:08:45] I am so sorry.

[00:08:45] But no, I, I, it was so close and I'm like, it's probably not going to happen.

[00:08:52] I'm just going to, I'm just going to not look at it.

[00:08:54] There's no way I've done the marketing.

[00:08:57] I could, you know.

[00:08:59] I mean, you didn't do all the marketing.

[00:09:01] Cause I say you should wear a sushi costume and go out in public.

[00:09:05] Yeah.

[00:09:05] I will admit my one thing, the one thing that I, I, there's more than I could have done.

[00:09:10] And I definitely hate that.

[00:09:12] I took a week away from online, like of the election to just like lose heart.

[00:09:17] I feel like if I did it, it would have been so much more feral for sure.

[00:09:22] That or the banana costume would have like made it happen.

[00:09:24] Like immediately.

[00:09:25] I, I put the banana costume on, on stream.

[00:09:29] Cause I was like, listen.

[00:09:30] Yeah.

[00:09:30] That's the way to do it.

[00:09:31] But congratulations.

[00:09:32] I was, I was obsessed.

[00:09:34] I kept looking at it every other day.

[00:09:35] Like, Oh, come on.

[00:09:36] Let me see where it's at.

[00:09:36] Let me see where it's at.

[00:09:37] Let me see where it's at.

[00:09:38] I kept looking at it too.

[00:09:39] And me and my wife were like, Oh man, it's happening.

[00:09:42] It's happening.

[00:09:42] And then when I saw it happen, I was like, yes, this is awesome.

[00:09:45] This is awesome.

[00:09:46] This is awesome.

[00:09:47] So I'm definitely excited.

[00:09:49] Yeah.

[00:09:50] Yeah.

[00:09:50] I saw it getting really close and I'm like, you know what?

[00:09:53] Elliot doesn't have a presence on Facebook.

[00:09:55] I'm going to reach out to Facebook people.

[00:09:56] And I was like, everybody in Facebook, please come.

[00:09:59] Yeah.

[00:09:59] Ray was like, Oh, I could share it on Facebook for you.

[00:10:02] I'm like, bro.

[00:10:05] Cause I'm like, yeah, I'm not on Facebook, but no, I, I, everyone, everyone who pledged,

[00:10:12] everyone who shared, thank y'all.

[00:10:13] I'm excited to, to get the project in production.

[00:10:16] I'm finishing typesetting this week.

[00:10:18] Hopefully she'll get the funds next week and I'm ready to throw these books at y'all.

[00:10:23] Throw them, throw them this way.

[00:10:25] Throw them this way.

[00:10:26] I'm going to throw them.

[00:10:28] Throw them things.

[00:10:29] All right.

[00:10:30] Like throwing books at people or launching or throwing bodies at people.

[00:10:35] Mr.

[00:10:35] John Avena, you have a Kickstarter that's going on right now.

[00:10:37] I thought you were about to say that John Avena throws bodies at people.

[00:10:41] Well, he does one time.

[00:10:43] Okay.

[00:10:45] You know, John, well, you're back.

[00:10:49] You're here to promote a new project.

[00:10:51] Tell us about the new Kickstarter that's going on right now.

[00:10:54] It's live.

[00:10:54] Tell us about it.

[00:10:55] Sure.

[00:10:55] So it's called bomb Shelley in the atomic and actually have a co-writer on this one.

[00:10:59] So I wrote it with real life wrestler, Shelley Benson.

[00:11:02] And we used her wrestling persona as a comic book character.

[00:11:06] So it's kind of like a Harley Quinn meets Green Lantern like vibe to it.

[00:11:11] So she's really like chaotic and like swears like a sailor, but her tattoos are all Disney

[00:11:16] princesses like in real life.

[00:11:18] So it's definitely fun.

[00:11:20] And she's got like a really big like persona and energy to her.

[00:11:24] And we got talking about like what kind of books she'd want to make.

[00:11:28] And I was like, oh, like this fun kind of like superhero-esque thing.

[00:11:32] But it's like instead of protecting like a wrestling belt, you're protecting like your

[00:11:35] energy.

[00:11:36] And she really liked that.

[00:11:37] So.

[00:11:39] Interesting.

[00:11:40] Cool.

[00:11:40] What's it called again?

[00:11:41] I'm so ready.

[00:11:42] Bomb Shelley in the atomic.

[00:11:43] And I'm looking through it right now and it looks really good.

[00:11:47] Yeah.

[00:11:47] She's like a model and stuff too.

[00:11:49] So she was like, what if we use like photo variants?

[00:11:52] And I was like, that's on you.

[00:11:54] Those are always fun.

[00:11:56] It's funny because a lot of times it's like a cosplay photo variant.

[00:11:59] In this case, it's just the person.

[00:12:01] Yeah.

[00:12:01] Yeah.

[00:12:02] Because she is the person.

[00:12:04] So she was like, yeah, we'll do it.

[00:12:05] And her friend had taken all the photos of her and stuff already.

[00:12:08] So she was like, we can use these and then we'll credit the photographer and everything

[00:12:12] too.

[00:12:13] So.

[00:12:14] No, it's exciting.

[00:12:15] It's live right now.

[00:12:15] Kickstarter.

[00:12:17] And John, like, is this part of, I don't want to say, is this part of the Luchaverse

[00:12:21] that Avena Comics works in or is something separate?

[00:12:24] It's something separate.

[00:12:24] And it might turn into something a little bit more because there have been a few of like

[00:12:29] people in her wrestling circle who have reached out about possibly doing books.

[00:12:33] So this might be like a subsidiary of like Avena Comics where we like take wrestlers and

[00:12:39] we try to like help them promote themselves by turning them into characters and doing like

[00:12:44] an own pocket universe of these guys.

[00:12:46] Yeah.

[00:12:47] That really good.

[00:12:48] It's to help produce comics and not just like write them myself so I can help other people

[00:12:53] find their writing voice.

[00:12:55] And then.

[00:12:56] If anybody can do that, it's John Avena.

[00:12:59] Yeah.

[00:13:00] No, I'm serious.

[00:13:01] Cause, cause it's like, you're one of those.

[00:13:02] I've met a few people in my life who do something for like a year and are like, that's who they

[00:13:07] are and they're good at it.

[00:13:09] Like I met somebody once who was a teacher for one year and she gave me the impression

[00:13:12] of somebody who's been doing this for decades and knows exactly what she's doing.

[00:13:15] And that's how I feel like with you, man.

[00:13:17] Like, like you, you come into the, this industry really.

[00:13:21] And just naturally learn to fly.

[00:13:25] Yeah.

[00:13:25] I just like your books cause you, you're, you know how to write a good story, man.

[00:13:28] I love your books.

[00:13:29] I'm a fan.

[00:13:30] I really enjoy them.

[00:13:31] And I'm glad that you're able to do projects like this because it just shows you that you

[00:13:37] can flex and you're, you're liquid, man.

[00:13:38] You can move around.

[00:13:39] You can, you can dance in other universes if you will, you know, dabble in that.

[00:13:43] So you don't have to just rely on your stuff, which is great, but you can also show

[00:13:46] like, Hey, you know what?

[00:13:47] I got legs.

[00:13:48] I can make something happen on this over here.

[00:13:49] So I'm excited for that.

[00:13:50] So definitely Primo's.

[00:13:51] We want to support Primo John and Avenia Comics and definitely, definitely check them out.

[00:13:56] We'll put our stuff.

[00:13:57] We'll put the socials.

[00:13:57] I'll put like, you know, cool thing here on screen right here, right here.

[00:14:00] I literally just Googled Avenia Comics Kickstarter.

[00:14:03] And the very first thing that popped up was Bomb Shelley.

[00:14:05] So it worked out.

[00:14:08] There you go.

[00:14:09] Avenia Comics Kickstarter.

[00:14:10] Avenia Comics Kickstarter.

[00:14:12] But, you know, it's, it's great that we get to create these things and we get to

[00:14:15] talk like, like this show here, right?

[00:14:17] We get to enjoy this show.

[00:14:18] We do this show.

[00:14:20] To be fair, last season, we had more episodes.

[00:14:23] I'm just going to say.

[00:14:24] It's on me.

[00:14:25] No, it's not.

[00:14:26] No, no, no.

[00:14:27] It is all Freddy.

[00:14:28] You know what?

[00:14:29] No, Elia, I know you're always trying to blame Freddy, but, but I personally will not

[00:14:35] blame Freddy because no, you know, we are all people.

[00:14:37] We all live lives.

[00:14:38] And honestly, we, we pitch it for each other whenever we can.

[00:14:42] And sometimes, sometimes we just all need to take a quick relaxer.

[00:14:45] And that's cool.

[00:14:45] I was going to say, you know, someone had to go to London randomly.

[00:14:48] Okay, fine.

[00:14:49] Do an episode.

[00:14:50] Fine.

[00:14:50] Yeah.

[00:14:51] I was, I was across the pond last week, as they say.

[00:14:54] It surprised me how many people I met didn't know what across the pond mean.

[00:14:57] Really?

[00:14:58] Really?

[00:14:58] Austin.

[00:14:59] But still, you know, I figured while I was over there, I would get engaged.

[00:15:03] So I did.

[00:15:04] So there's that.

[00:15:05] You got engaged?

[00:15:06] Yeah.

[00:15:06] Yeah.

[00:15:07] There's that.

[00:15:07] There's that.

[00:15:08] Congratulations, dude.

[00:15:08] Congrats.

[00:15:09] Wow.

[00:15:09] Congratulations.

[00:15:11] You can't just do that.

[00:15:14] I was honestly, I was honestly thinking to myself, did I tell them in the chat?

[00:15:17] No, I don't think I did.

[00:15:19] No.

[00:15:20] Wow.

[00:15:20] I'm going to go stream at Alexis on Twitter later.

[00:15:21] Oh my God.

[00:15:23] Was it like, like a super cool, like in front of like London Bridge or something?

[00:15:27] I don't know.

[00:15:28] Like.

[00:15:29] Yeah.

[00:15:29] Tell us a story.

[00:15:30] We have to have the look.

[00:15:32] Okay.

[00:15:32] All right.

[00:15:33] Well, I don't really have a story for that, except that I kept looking around at all

[00:15:36] these like big touristy places that might be a good spot to do it.

[00:15:39] And I was like, no, none of these.

[00:15:41] It's just too crowded.

[00:15:41] So eventually I asked somebody from London.

[00:15:44] Hey, where's the quietest place?

[00:15:45] You know, that's nice.

[00:15:46] And he's like, there's this park nobody goes to.

[00:15:48] So it's really quiet park.

[00:15:49] And it was really nice.

[00:15:51] But I do have some stories.

[00:15:52] We accidentally ended up in the house of Lords.

[00:15:54] Yeah.

[00:15:55] Yeah.

[00:15:56] You're engaged.

[00:15:57] Well, no.

[00:15:57] This is a wedding videographer.

[00:15:59] So John's going to come down for the wedding.

[00:16:01] John, give him a good rate.

[00:16:02] John.

[00:16:02] Be a punk.

[00:16:03] Give him Primo prices.

[00:16:04] Okay.

[00:16:05] She's in the other room and she can hear me podcasting and she's texting right now.

[00:16:08] This is so cute.

[00:16:08] I can hear you guys talking about it.

[00:16:11] You should have her on the show, man.

[00:16:13] I told you about it.

[00:16:14] I've been telling her that too.

[00:16:15] She's got really great opinions.

[00:16:16] I really would love to get her on.

[00:16:18] No, I definitely want her on.

[00:16:19] But John, give them Primo prices.

[00:16:21] Come on down.

[00:16:22] Okay.

[00:16:23] He's like, for you, it'll only be one arm, no leg needed.

[00:16:26] I was like, you just invite me and I'll bring my camera stuff.

[00:16:30] Make it happen.

[00:16:31] But no, I'm saying like the two of us had some adventures in London, mostly getting lost.

[00:16:37] Like we accidentally ended up in the House of Lords, which is the equivalent of Senate.

[00:16:41] Basically, we get off the bus and we're right next to Big Ben and we're like, cool, maybe

[00:16:44] there's a way in.

[00:16:45] I probably isn't, but why not?

[00:16:46] We walk around the building and I see this line of people getting in.

[00:16:49] So all right, let's get in that line.

[00:16:50] Get in line.

[00:16:50] We get to the end of it.

[00:16:51] They give us a lanyard.

[00:16:52] Okay, cool.

[00:16:52] We walk in the building.

[00:16:53] I'm like, this is not Big Ben.

[00:16:55] This is Parliament.

[00:16:56] But cool.

[00:16:57] Let's walk around.

[00:16:58] So walk around.

[00:16:59] We see it and we ask them, hey, where should we go?

[00:17:00] They're like, oh, that way is the House of Lords.

[00:17:02] Oh, okay.

[00:17:02] Walk into it.

[00:17:03] I'm like, this is definitely the House of Lords.

[00:17:05] Interesting.

[00:17:06] And I look at her, you want to go see the House of Commons?

[00:17:07] Let's go do that.

[00:17:08] So we turn around and go to the other side.

[00:17:09] And this big officer standing there is like, hello there.

[00:17:12] You're supposed to be here.

[00:17:13] And I was like, I don't know.

[00:17:15] I was over there.

[00:17:16] And I go, you're not.

[00:17:17] Okay, cool.

[00:17:19] So I look at her.

[00:17:19] I'm like, you know, we're just surrounded by a bunch of symbols of colonizers.

[00:17:22] We can just take off now.

[00:17:24] Yeah.

[00:17:24] Seriously, there's like paintings all over the walls.

[00:17:26] They're just like, bow before us, you know?

[00:17:29] So we walk out and this lady takes our lanyards and she's like, wait, you didn't have the other

[00:17:34] passes, the tours?

[00:17:35] I'm like, no.

[00:17:36] Was there one?

[00:17:37] We're good.

[00:17:38] Apparently, we just snuck in with somebody else by accident.

[00:17:41] It was not intentional.

[00:17:42] And then there was the time that we accidentally ended up in another city.

[00:17:46] I travel a lot.

[00:17:47] And I thought I understood big city, like public transit.

[00:17:51] London was more confusing to me than Tokyo.

[00:17:52] So we get there.

[00:17:53] I buy a seven-day pass, which I think is for bus and train or underground or whatever.

[00:17:59] And then we do the map.

[00:17:59] We want to go to Brighton because a friend of hers is having a concert in Brighton.

[00:18:02] And we were going to, so it says, all right, get on the thing.

[00:18:05] So we go to get on the thing and scan it.

[00:18:07] It doesn't work.

[00:18:07] The guy's like, let me see your card.

[00:18:08] No, there's no money in that card.

[00:18:10] We just, fine, whatever.

[00:18:12] We put money in the card and then we go scan in.

[00:18:14] Okay, the instructions say go from the underground to this rail.

[00:18:17] Okay, we get on the rail.

[00:18:18] Why is Benny Hill music playing in my head?

[00:18:20] It really is.

[00:18:20] So we get out at Brighton Beach and they won't let us leave the train station.

[00:18:27] And I'm like, why can't we get out?

[00:18:28] They're like, go talk to this lady.

[00:18:30] Go talk to the lady.

[00:18:31] And she's looking at us and she's like, how did you get here?

[00:18:35] And I'm like, I don't know.

[00:18:36] We followed the instructions and the arrows and the tools to get on the train.

[00:18:39] You were supposed to have a ticket.

[00:18:43] Like we stowed away on a train, I guess.

[00:18:45] American.

[00:18:46] Wow.

[00:18:46] Look, another time, this is the last one.

[00:18:49] Another time, we're having all these issues with the buses, right?

[00:18:51] But the weirdest one on the buses was we're like, okay, we figured it out this time.

[00:18:54] That's the right bus stop.

[00:18:55] That's the right bus number.

[00:18:56] It's going the right direction.

[00:18:58] It's 20 stops to our next location.

[00:18:59] We're going to be fine.

[00:19:00] We get on the bus, three stops in.

[00:19:02] Last stop, everybody off.

[00:19:04] We're like, what?

[00:19:05] No, it's 20 stops.

[00:19:06] This is around the corner.

[00:19:07] Last stop, you have to get out.

[00:19:09] And I get up there.

[00:19:09] I'm like, but we're trying to get here.

[00:19:11] He looks at that.

[00:19:11] He goes, you need to be on the other side.

[00:19:13] Not here.

[00:19:13] You need to be the other side of the street.

[00:19:14] We're like, fine.

[00:19:15] We go to the other side of the street.

[00:19:16] Wait at the bus stop.

[00:19:17] Bus arrives.

[00:19:18] Same bus, same driver.

[00:19:20] It's hilarious.

[00:19:22] And he looks at us like, I don't know.

[00:19:25] I would have a full-blown meltdown.

[00:19:27] No.

[00:19:28] You're an asshole.

[00:19:29] Does that translate?

[00:19:31] Huh?

[00:19:31] You know?

[00:19:32] I just don't speak the language.

[00:19:34] You know?

[00:19:35] What I told my partner is, or my fiancee, what I told her is they invented bureaucracy

[00:19:40] over here.

[00:19:40] That's why they're so good at it.

[00:19:42] Yeah.

[00:19:43] Yeah.

[00:19:43] Bureaucracy gets in the way.

[00:19:45] Look at, man, look at you.

[00:19:46] You got engaged.

[00:19:47] You, you, you, I don't know.

[00:19:50] I don't have a successful Kickstarter right now that I'm working on.

[00:19:53] I am.

[00:19:54] You had one?

[00:19:54] No, I did.

[00:19:55] And I'm working on the script.

[00:19:56] I'm working on the script for the next issue.

[00:19:57] So there's that.

[00:19:58] I still need to do your unboxing for.

[00:20:02] I don't do the cool packing videos that some people do.

[00:20:06] Hey, I need more Emily packing stuff, by the way.

[00:20:09] I mean, that's more fun than you.

[00:20:10] It'll go back to her head.

[00:20:11] I can't have her on camera.

[00:20:13] No.

[00:20:14] Bring her back.

[00:20:14] Because then she's like, people like me in the comments.

[00:20:16] I'm like, it's true.

[00:20:17] It's true.

[00:20:18] I'm going to go and come on every single one.

[00:20:19] Bring back Emily.

[00:20:20] She just slipped me off.

[00:20:22] Hashtag team.

[00:20:22] That's what makes her cool.

[00:20:24] That's what makes her cool.

[00:20:25] She doesn't need to do anything.

[00:20:26] That was enough.

[00:20:27] I felt that here.

[00:20:29] Honestly, you could just be packing and she could just lean in like this.

[00:20:31] And then you pick out again.

[00:20:32] Everybody's like, we love this video so much more.

[00:20:34] Yeah.

[00:20:35] Everyone's like, oh, she's so chill.

[00:20:36] I'm like, no, she's disassociating.

[00:20:39] Well, I mean, to be fair, when I have to deal with mail, that's what I'm doing.

[00:20:44] There you go.

[00:20:45] You know what?

[00:20:45] We need to make the Whamstand guy make an Emily plaque and just have it here behind you.

[00:20:50] You know, I heard about those Whamstands on this TikTok channel.

[00:20:54] I think it was called Avianya Comics.

[00:20:56] And it looked really cool.

[00:20:59] Yeah.

[00:21:00] I'm excited.

[00:21:02] Hashtag not sponsored.

[00:21:03] But all the stuff I've seen from that is awesome.

[00:21:06] And Freddie, he vouches for it too.

[00:21:09] Yeah.

[00:21:09] He's like my unofficial partner and everything too.

[00:21:11] Because I'll just have like a stupid idea.

[00:21:12] I'm like, what if we did this?

[00:21:14] He was like, let me figure it out.

[00:21:16] And then he goes back 10 minutes later.

[00:21:17] He's like, we did it.

[00:21:18] You want me to make an ax that does what now?

[00:21:20] I want a belt that I can...

[00:21:21] I do have an ax.

[00:21:22] Yeah.

[00:21:22] I know.

[00:21:23] That's what I said.

[00:21:23] I don't remember what he does, but I remember it does something.

[00:21:25] I saw it and oh my God.

[00:21:26] I was screaming.

[00:21:28] I know it was in your chat.

[00:21:29] But I was like, I did it.

[00:21:30] Oh, he does.

[00:21:31] It's cool.

[00:21:32] I have my dagger in here.

[00:21:33] So he made that ax too?

[00:21:34] Yeah.

[00:21:34] You got the dagger, right?

[00:21:35] The one with the...

[00:21:36] Yeah.

[00:21:36] Oh my God.

[00:21:37] I need a...

[00:21:38] Now I just need a D&D game to play.

[00:21:41] Well, we have players right here.

[00:21:43] Yeah.

[00:21:43] Oh, we're...

[00:21:44] Wow.

[00:21:44] Look at that Wham-stan-y stuff.

[00:21:46] I stan that Wham-stan.

[00:21:49] Yeah.

[00:21:49] No, man.

[00:21:50] I enjoy the Wham-stan stuff.

[00:21:52] And he's super cool too, by the way.

[00:21:54] Like, I'm sorry because I don't expect your name, but if you're listening, thank you, man.

[00:21:58] You were dope.

[00:21:58] You were fun to talk to.

[00:21:59] He was really, really cool and like really helps you create your stuff and your vision.

[00:22:03] So if you're looking for stuff like this, you know, more stands, sort of magnetic.

[00:22:08] This...

[00:22:09] I was thinking about getting a belt made, man.

[00:22:10] Like with a belt buckle that I can change them.

[00:22:13] That'd be cool.

[00:22:13] Oh, he did.

[00:22:14] He did one for Llorona.

[00:22:15] I have a belt buckle.

[00:22:16] Yo.

[00:22:16] Good dad.

[00:22:17] Great minds, man.

[00:22:17] Great minds.

[00:22:17] I need to get him to make little conches for my buns.

[00:22:21] Yeah.

[00:22:21] Yeah, he does pins.

[00:22:22] He does pins too.

[00:22:24] So like...

[00:22:24] Okay.

[00:22:25] Well...

[00:22:25] Those are the stupid ideas I had.

[00:22:27] I was just like, hey, the Llorona character needs a belt buckle for the cosplay.

[00:22:31] They're genius.

[00:22:31] I was like, can we make it?

[00:22:32] And he was like, yeah, I can make it.

[00:22:35] So then I was like, make two.

[00:22:36] Yo, all right.

[00:22:37] Well, yo, homeboy.

[00:22:38] I'm about to hit you up with some more projects.

[00:22:40] So let's go.

[00:22:40] Hit him up.

[00:22:41] Hit him up.

[00:22:42] Hit him up.

[00:22:42] Hit him up.

[00:22:42] John sent me.

[00:22:43] Yeah.

[00:22:44] Yeah.

[00:22:45] John sent me.

[00:22:46] Well, you know what?

[00:22:47] We're going to need to brand it better because that's...

[00:22:48] We're going to say Avenia sent me.

[00:22:50] There you go.

[00:22:51] It's true.

[00:22:52] Yeah.

[00:22:52] Avenia sent me.

[00:22:52] Then my uncle's going to slide in and take credit and be like, yo.

[00:22:55] Sure.

[00:22:56] You got to be careful.

[00:22:56] You got to be careful, guys.

[00:22:57] One sec.

[00:22:58] I got to plug this thing in.

[00:22:59] I got to unplugged.

[00:23:00] We've been plugging Whamstan this whole time.

[00:23:02] What are you talking about?

[00:23:02] Yeah.

[00:23:03] This is the second time, like the second podcast I've done where it turned into like a spokes

[00:23:09] thing for him.

[00:23:10] Because people like now that because they've seen my videos of it and they're like, oh,

[00:23:14] I really like it.

[00:23:15] So I ordered this and this because I saw it on your video.

[00:23:17] I was like, oh, cool.

[00:23:18] At this rate, he doesn't even need to pay for advertising.

[00:23:19] He just needs to have you.

[00:23:22] Make you free stuff.

[00:23:23] Make me some cool shit, man.

[00:23:25] I'll talk about your stuff.

[00:23:26] You know?

[00:23:27] He made me that Starbucks spinner and he just sent it to me.

[00:23:30] And then he made me a rotating head for Lucha Forever that just sits on a thing and spins.

[00:23:35] And I'm like, that's so cool.

[00:23:37] Thank you.

[00:23:38] Well, guys, we're going to take a quick little break.

[00:23:40] We're going to jump right into some more Sin Color.

[00:23:43] Check out Sin Color at Sin Color Music.

[00:23:46] And here's Limonada.

[00:24:51] Welcome back.

[00:24:52] Hope you enjoyed that.

[00:24:53] I want to give a big shout out.

[00:24:55] We're into the season here to Sin Color.

[00:24:57] She is a fellow Salvadorian creator.

[00:25:00] She has been so kind to just let us use her music.

[00:25:03] So I definitely want you guys to go and check out Sin Color, Sin Color Music.

[00:25:07] She has a great voice.

[00:25:08] She's going to do like a Christmas like live stream, singing some like old classic tunes as well.

[00:25:12] So check her out.

[00:25:13] Seems like the right time of year to do one of those.

[00:25:15] I think it's time of year, you know, because one of the things we've done, at least in the last one time we've done this before,

[00:25:21] is talk about Spotify rap.

[00:25:23] That came out just this week.

[00:25:24] And it's always been fun to kind of poke and see what our top songs are, top artists, the things that you don't really realize you do.

[00:25:32] And then how sad it is that they've collected so much data about you.

[00:25:36] Right.

[00:25:37] The AI just knows too much about you.

[00:25:39] And here we are talking about it.

[00:25:42] You know, we've been embraced by the technology.

[00:25:45] We've embraced the technology engulfed by the AI.

[00:25:47] You know, you say the AI, I feel like they didn't put as much effort into the design as they had the past years.

[00:25:54] I felt like it was just the same little triangular thing coming back and forth as opposed to, I don't know, variety before.

[00:26:00] But that's about it.

[00:26:01] It was kind of eh.

[00:26:03] But you did get a couple more details.

[00:26:05] Like, for example, like for me, it said I like, I did like, I'll do the likes and didn't not like, dislikes.

[00:26:11] I enjoyed the fact that it told me my journey through the year.

[00:26:14] Like, hey, in January, you were into.

[00:26:16] That was fun.

[00:26:17] You know, and then by October, you were into this.

[00:26:19] And I was like, oh, okay, that actually fits.

[00:26:21] I like that it made a point of telling me that I'm in the .01 of Beatles fans.

[00:26:27] And I was like, was that necessary?

[00:26:29] Like, was that necessary at that point?

[00:26:32] You are the only person listening to.

[00:26:35] You're the only person listening to the Beatles right now.

[00:26:37] Yeah.

[00:26:38] Imagine.

[00:26:38] Yeah, my top hits are just pretty much what was expected.

[00:26:42] Bohemian Rhapsody.

[00:26:43] I have a playlist that is kind of long.

[00:26:47] And the only song I have on there twice is Bohemian Rhapsody.

[00:26:50] So, you know, it makes sense.

[00:26:51] It's a bop.

[00:26:52] Yeah.

[00:26:52] And then we got Bowie and that kind of stuff.

[00:26:55] Let's see.

[00:26:55] How long is my playlist?

[00:26:56] It is 115 hours and 34 minutes long.

[00:27:01] Jesus.

[00:27:01] And it's got a couple songs on it.

[00:27:03] It's a lot.

[00:27:04] Yeah.

[00:27:04] It's random songs to write by.

[00:27:06] So if you want to, you know, follow it along.

[00:27:08] But the point is, is that like, yeah, I got that.

[00:27:11] The thing is, my students every year, they're like, show us your rap.

[00:27:15] We want to see what you're listening to.

[00:27:16] They're so excited.

[00:27:17] And I'm like, cool.

[00:27:18] So the past couple of years, I would actually project it on the screen so they could see it.

[00:27:21] I'm like, nothing to hide there.

[00:27:22] I know what's going to be on there.

[00:27:23] And this year, they would not let me open it on a browser.

[00:27:28] I even have the Spotify downloaded, the app downloaded.

[00:27:31] It wouldn't let me open it.

[00:27:32] I even emailed it from myself.

[00:27:34] It said, share with somebody.

[00:27:35] I sent the link and it would not, when I clicked it, it said, download it on your phone.

[00:27:39] And I'm like, what was the sharing for?

[00:27:41] So it happens when you lay off 50,000 people.

[00:27:45] Exactly.

[00:27:45] Exactly.

[00:27:47] You know what it is with the, I don't know what it is about Spotify rap.

[00:27:49] It becomes a communal thing, right?

[00:27:52] Because.

[00:27:52] Yeah.

[00:27:53] That's what it is.

[00:27:54] It's a communal thing where everybody, at least to an extent, even if you don't use it as much anymore or whatnot, but like you still have a hand in that.

[00:28:01] Hey, you know what?

[00:28:01] Here's mine.

[00:28:02] You know, here's my Spotify rap and whatnot.

[00:28:04] And it's fun.

[00:28:05] You can't hide your shame.

[00:28:07] Yeah.

[00:28:07] Okay.

[00:28:08] You know what?

[00:28:08] Here's mine.

[00:28:09] You know, last year I talked about Lola Young.

[00:28:11] She was my number one thing because that's what I heard.

[00:28:14] I heard Lola Young like crazy.

[00:28:16] That's who I heard.

[00:28:16] Like tons of Lola Young.

[00:28:18] Mine were top artists, Lola Young, The Sacred Souls still, because that's what I've been listening to all

[00:28:22] year.

[00:28:23] Jungle.

[00:28:24] Duh.

[00:28:25] Jungle.

[00:28:25] Eminem and Kali Uchis.

[00:28:27] Like that's that.

[00:28:27] Yeah.

[00:28:28] That fits me, you know?

[00:28:29] Okay.

[00:28:29] That's a vibe, you know?

[00:28:30] I have a secret shame.

[00:28:32] It said my top podcast.

[00:28:35] My primos got knocked out by Night Vale.

[00:28:38] And I'm like, oh.

[00:28:39] Okay, but it's Night Vale.

[00:28:40] It is Welcome to Night Vale, but I'm like.

[00:28:41] Yeah.

[00:28:42] You know, it hurts me.

[00:28:43] My wife's top podcast was the Trevor Noah podcast.

[00:28:47] So I was okay.

[00:28:48] Dang.

[00:28:49] Okay.

[00:28:49] I'm number two.

[00:28:50] I'm number two.

[00:28:51] We need to have him on us and then that'll work.

[00:28:53] Wait.

[00:28:53] Exactly.

[00:28:54] That's not a group.

[00:28:54] Exactly.

[00:28:55] Exactly.

[00:28:56] What about you?

[00:28:57] Ooh.

[00:28:57] What?

[00:28:58] I didn't know you liked Pitbull.

[00:29:00] Oh my.

[00:29:01] Oh my God.

[00:29:03] He's right there.

[00:29:05] Top point zero zero five.

[00:29:08] Why?

[00:29:09] Why are they saying that?

[00:29:10] Why do they even put that in there?

[00:29:11] Don't be obsessive, Spotify.

[00:29:14] Where's my.

[00:29:14] Like if it was a, if it was at least a single digit, we'd be all right.

[00:29:17] But why are you giving us percentages of a digit?

[00:29:21] Like just tell me I'm obsessed and stupid.

[00:29:23] My God.

[00:29:24] No, but you beat me in, in hours of music or minutes of music.

[00:29:29] How many did you do?

[00:29:30] Like 35,000?

[00:29:31] Yeah.

[00:29:32] 35, 35, 9, 8, 0.

[00:29:34] Cause I, I, that's all I do at work.

[00:29:37] My top five were Pitbull was number one.

[00:29:40] Jungle number two.

[00:29:41] Yeah.

[00:29:41] Yeah.

[00:29:42] Surprise.

[00:29:43] Surprise.

[00:29:45] Youngbae, number three.

[00:29:47] Saib, who does the lo-fi music for my stream.

[00:29:49] And then Caravan Palace, number five.

[00:29:52] And they came out with a new album this year that I found out about in like September.

[00:29:57] And then I couldn't stop listening to it.

[00:29:58] If they had done the stats for the last like two weeks of November, Wicked would have knocked

[00:30:03] the whole damn list out.

[00:30:04] Yeah.

[00:30:05] What about you, John?

[00:30:06] What about music?

[00:30:07] Cause you know what?

[00:30:07] I did make a playlist for John, by the way.

[00:30:09] Did you guys know that?

[00:30:11] Yo, I didn't know that.

[00:30:12] It's a solid one.

[00:30:13] What's it called, John?

[00:30:14] What's it called?

[00:30:15] Music to, it's like catch John up.

[00:30:19] Let me see here.

[00:30:20] It's called like, like bringing John up to speed or something like that.

[00:30:24] That's what it is.

[00:30:25] Part one.

[00:30:25] Oh, part one.

[00:30:27] Yeah.

[00:30:28] Part one.

[00:30:28] Cause part two is coming.

[00:30:29] Yeah.

[00:30:29] That's how I got the like little young stuff was from you.

[00:30:33] Yeah, dude.

[00:30:35] I am telling you, I saw her live and I am telling people they don't, they don't believe me.

[00:30:40] I have this.

[00:30:41] I told you guys last time I have a chip on my shoulder when I present people music or anything.

[00:30:45] Hey, you got to check this out.

[00:30:46] It's good.

[00:30:47] Yeah, sure.

[00:30:48] And then like six months later, like, oh my God, it's so amazing.

[00:30:50] Why did you tell me?

[00:30:51] Like I fucking told you already.

[00:30:52] I told you, listen to the show and I'm telling you, like, listen to her.

[00:30:56] Like it's fucking good.

[00:30:57] It's just good.

[00:30:58] Trust me.

[00:30:58] It's good.

[00:30:59] It's a Reese's peanut butter cup.

[00:31:00] It's just good.

[00:31:01] It's just good.

[00:31:02] Just enjoy it.

[00:31:03] No question it.

[00:31:04] What about you, John?

[00:31:05] What was your, uh, your, your, your rap?

[00:31:08] So the first few made sense.

[00:31:09] It was, uh, this band called the wonder years that I really liked.

[00:31:12] They're like an emo band, but they're number one and they have been for like four years.

[00:31:15] Okay.

[00:31:16] Vicente Fernandez was number two.

[00:31:18] Yo.

[00:31:19] I was in a mood for a while.

[00:31:21] So it was that one.

[00:31:22] Noah Khan.

[00:31:23] And I was like, again, it fits.

[00:31:25] I was like depressed, right?

[00:31:27] Number four was Monica Naranja because I was writing a lot of Llorona throughout the year.

[00:31:33] And since it sat in the nineties, I was like, oh, this song.

[00:31:36] So it was her for that.

[00:31:38] And then the fifth one, I don't know how it got on here.

[00:31:41] Luke, not Luke Bryan, Luke something.

[00:31:43] It's like Zach Bryan.

[00:31:45] It's his country singer.

[00:31:46] Thank you, Emily.

[00:31:47] I told we need her like always covering.

[00:31:50] See, we need Emily.

[00:31:51] Always.

[00:31:53] Everybody needs an Emily in their life.

[00:31:55] Everybody, you know?

[00:31:56] Yeah, but that one came on and I was like, I don't understand, but he wrote a funeral song.

[00:32:01] So I think, I think that's where it came in for me.

[00:32:04] That kind of makes sense.

[00:32:06] John, you mentioned, you mentioned Chante, right?

[00:32:09] You were in a mood.

[00:32:10] Yeah.

[00:32:11] I had a whole moment of clarity the other day, like a week ago.

[00:32:15] I was listening to his music and I don't know where, I don't know how I came upon it.

[00:32:19] I opened up the playlist and it said, this genre of music opened up Mexican doomer.

[00:32:25] There's an actual genre called Mexican doomer.

[00:32:29] Doomer.

[00:32:30] That sounds like a good genre to be fair.

[00:32:32] It's literally filled with like drunk, depressed, like Mexican, Mexican doomer.

[00:32:38] I'm not even kidding.

[00:32:39] Wait, wait, wait.

[00:32:39] Is this just corinos or what?

[00:32:41] No, no.

[00:32:41] It's like, if I can focus it, like it's literally like Mexican doomer.

[00:32:45] I don't know if I can focus it enough, but it's just, look at this.

[00:32:49] It's Julio Jaramillo, just pure ballads that are depressing.

[00:32:53] Pedro Infante, Jose Jose, Richie Valens, we belong together.

[00:32:58] Okay.

[00:32:59] Cama y Mesa, Roberto Carlos.

[00:33:01] It's like all these Mexican, Latino singers, depressed, like, just like, okay.

[00:33:07] I didn't know I was a genre.

[00:33:10] You were a Mexican doomer.

[00:33:12] No, catch me drunk and sad and alone.

[00:33:14] I'm listening to Cien Años.

[00:33:16] I'm like crying.

[00:33:17] We went to a tiki bar with a writer friend and it was like me, Emily, him, and his buddy.

[00:33:23] And he was like, we got to get tequila.

[00:33:25] We got to do this.

[00:33:25] And I was like, oh, I can't.

[00:33:26] I was like, I will just talk Spanish the moment it hits my soul.

[00:33:31] And Emily, without missing a beat, looked at my buddy and he was, she was like, no, he's

[00:33:34] not joking.

[00:33:35] Yeah.

[00:33:35] Like, like it gets really, like he will just play mariachi music for the next like eight

[00:33:40] hours.

[00:33:40] And I was like, I can't do tequila.

[00:33:43] To be fair, that's not a bad thing.

[00:33:44] Not the tequila necessarily, but the mariachi music for the next, yeah.

[00:33:47] But I, like, I could feel it.

[00:33:49] Like, it must be what a werewolf transformation feels like.

[00:33:52] Whoa.

[00:33:53] Because like, it like creeps up on me.

[00:33:55] Like my stomach gets warm.

[00:33:56] And then I just look at Emily and she's like, oh, it's happening.

[00:33:59] I was like, oh, it's happening.

[00:34:00] Whoa, it's happening.

[00:34:00] I'm turning it on Cheto.

[00:34:02] Let's go.

[00:34:02] I just started sounding like all my uncles.

[00:34:04] Yeah.

[00:34:05] You just become a singer.

[00:34:06] I found like young, young, like 25 year old Mexican Doomer artists that are doing this,

[00:34:12] like new variations of that vibe.

[00:34:15] And they're young dudes, man, like that are just doing this music and I'm vibing with it.

[00:34:19] Like, oh shit.

[00:34:20] Like this, the origins were the old school and now we're here.

[00:34:23] And these guys like this year released a record and it's on the Mexican Doomer thing.

[00:34:28] I'm not kidding.

[00:34:28] If you Spotify search Mexican Doomer.

[00:34:31] There's a really good band called McCharmleys.

[00:34:35] Yes, McCharmleys.

[00:34:36] We talked about them before.

[00:34:37] Yeah.

[00:34:37] Yeah.

[00:34:37] They're really cool.

[00:34:38] And they got like that 60s vibe.

[00:34:40] I wrote the Devil in the Review to that for like a while.

[00:34:43] I was like, I like it.

[00:34:44] The McCharmleys are dope.

[00:34:44] They're really, really cool.

[00:34:45] You know, like it's fun that we can share music, right?

[00:34:48] And we can kind of do it.

[00:34:49] But one thing I don't like is the X guy, the DJ X on your Spotify.

[00:34:55] He's an AI DJ voice.

[00:34:57] Yeah.

[00:34:58] Oh.

[00:34:58] That he jumps up and goes, hey, I'm DJ X.

[00:35:01] You've been listening to me for 1,085 hours.

[00:35:05] My wife goes like, why?

[00:35:06] I am thankful I've not gotten that yet.

[00:35:08] Oh my God.

[00:35:09] Yeah.

[00:35:09] It's there.

[00:35:10] I still can't believe like Google, for example, has AI podcasters now.

[00:35:13] And it's just like, why do we need that?

[00:35:16] Dude.

[00:35:16] Dude, there is a podcast on Spotify of your rap.

[00:35:20] There is fake people that they literally play like, oh, hey, we're going to go over your

[00:35:24] Spotify.

[00:35:25] Oh, look at that.

[00:35:26] Wow.

[00:35:26] Interesting.

[00:35:27] You've been interested.

[00:35:28] Like they literally made a podcast out of your rap.

[00:35:31] I'm not kidding.

[00:35:32] Like I was like, what?

[00:35:33] Look, we always talk about this idea that we want technology to help make our lives easier

[00:35:40] and it's literally removing the creation from it.

[00:35:43] There's this company called Artisan in California that literally their ads, like this is one of

[00:35:48] their ads.

[00:35:49] Artisans won't complain about a work-life balance.

[00:35:51] And it's like, artisans are eager to work 70 plus hours a week.

[00:35:55] And another one literally says, don't hire humans anymore.

[00:36:00] And I'm like, wow, this is an actual company.

[00:36:03] And I saw these memes of it.

[00:36:04] I didn't want to believe it.

[00:36:05] I looked it up.

[00:36:06] It is a real company and that is how they're advertising.

[00:36:08] Oh my gosh.

[00:36:09] It's like a Coca-Cola commercial.

[00:36:11] Oh my God.

[00:36:12] Did you see that?

[00:36:12] The AI one?

[00:36:14] No.

[00:36:14] Wait, was it Coca-Cola?

[00:36:15] I saw an AI commercial for something.

[00:36:17] Was it Coca-Cola?

[00:36:18] Yeah, it was Coca-Cola.

[00:36:19] It looks like garbage.

[00:36:21] Like it's so generic.

[00:36:22] It made me so happy to be a Dr. Pepper girl.

[00:36:24] I was like.

[00:36:25] But to me though, it's not even about the quality.

[00:36:28] Because yeah, let's not lie to ourselves.

[00:36:30] Eventually the quality is going to get better.

[00:36:31] The issue is not the quality.

[00:36:33] It's the existence.

[00:36:35] Because yeah.

[00:36:36] Yes.

[00:36:37] It's stolen art, stolen voices, stolen words.

[00:36:40] But it's also stealing potential art, potential voices, potential words.

[00:36:45] Oh, I didn't think about that.

[00:36:46] That to me is like, that's the long-term pitfall of this.

[00:36:50] Short-term, yeah, these artists have been screwed over.

[00:36:53] Long-term, future artists won't exist.

[00:36:56] Well, isn't that the fear, right?

[00:36:57] That they're just recycling beats and then using algorithms to make random sounds and voices

[00:37:02] and that sound like people we like?

[00:37:05] And that ends up being the music.

[00:37:06] But see, here's the thing though.

[00:37:08] Like I've heard the argument that people say like, oh, well, people were scared of VHS when

[00:37:11] it first came out.

[00:37:12] Sure enough, the movie studios tried to sue to stop VCRs from existing.

[00:37:15] And that didn't in movies.

[00:37:17] But the difference here is that it's going to get to a point where somebody could just

[00:37:20] type in, I want to do a movie where Superman meets Captain Kirk and they fight Godzilla

[00:37:24] and it gets made for them.

[00:37:25] And they don't need to go to a movie.

[00:37:27] We don't need actors.

[00:37:27] We don't need writers.

[00:37:28] We don't need directors.

[00:37:30] We don't need anything.

[00:37:31] In fact, the studios are like, cool.

[00:37:32] But no, they're not going to get money either.

[00:37:35] Yeah.

[00:37:36] AI.

[00:37:37] AI.

[00:37:37] Look at that.

[00:37:37] How we got from fun, go lucky.

[00:37:39] It's my fault, man.

[00:37:43] But that Spotify AI thing that DJ, it's terrible too.

[00:37:48] Like it was doing like, oh, we're going to do like fun emo throwbacks.

[00:37:51] And then right in the middle of it, it's like heartbreak country.

[00:37:54] And I was like, I know these are genres that I have, but they don't.

[00:37:57] See, but that's why the Google podcast scares me more because I've heard it and it sounds

[00:38:05] like a real two people podcast talking about whatever topic you ask them to do.

[00:38:10] I apologize to people watching.

[00:38:11] I'm literally trying to find it because I was like, what is this?

[00:38:13] And I said, oh, here's your rap in podcast form.

[00:38:16] Oh God, I have not seen that one.

[00:38:18] And I was like, what?

[00:38:19] And it's literally your own Spotify.

[00:38:21] And it says, it's a guy and a girl, a robot.

[00:38:24] And they're like, all right, let's go through your 2024.

[00:38:27] And they're like, oh yeah, exciting.

[00:38:28] Like they even do the, they're like, ooh, like, oh, you found it?

[00:38:31] AI podcast.

[00:38:33] Watch, just press play.

[00:38:35] It's creepy.

[00:38:36] Watch, put it to the mic.

[00:38:37] God, here it is.

[00:38:41] Yep, it is Google.

[00:38:51] Elia, call you by name.

[00:38:57] Yeah, they did try.

[00:38:58] Damn, that sucks.

[00:39:00] That's insane.

[00:39:01] They literally go to the five minute, like, yeah, you know, if you're, if you want to,

[00:39:05] if you want your rap to be spoken to you, like, it's like, I don't know.

[00:39:10] It just got me weird.

[00:39:11] I was like, I don't like this.

[00:39:12] I didn't ask, you know.

[00:39:14] And that is the Google voice I was talking about.

[00:39:17] That's the, that's the, the two person Google podcast.

[00:39:19] They even say it.

[00:39:19] That's just.

[00:39:22] Speaking of podcast.

[00:39:24] No, but you know what?

[00:39:25] Like moving past Spotify, you know, and we'll, we'll bring it up here and there.

[00:39:28] We're all fans of music in our own, in our own genres, our own corners of the verse there.

[00:39:34] But, you know, one thing that we wanted to talk about here, of course, that we enjoy talking

[00:39:37] about are things that we've consumed like movies, TV, books, you know, and, you know,

[00:39:42] kind of to get to the point here is that you guys, Elia and, and John, you got to see Wicked.

[00:39:48] I haven't seen it yet.

[00:39:49] But I want to know your thoughts, your, your, your feeling.

[00:39:53] Oh, Elia's feelings.

[00:39:54] Look at her.

[00:39:54] She's literally.

[00:39:55] Too many feelings.

[00:39:56] The sinus infection is gone.

[00:39:57] You know what?

[00:39:58] I feel like, Elia, if you, if you tell us your thoughts on it, you're going to be popular.

[00:40:03] Yeah.

[00:40:05] Is that a reference that I'm not getting now?

[00:40:07] I'm assuming.

[00:40:08] Okay, good.

[00:40:09] All right.

[00:40:10] I was actually worried for a second that I was a different reference and I was going to miss it.

[00:40:13] It's actually like one of my favorite songs.

[00:40:14] No, like, so for those who don't know, Wicked is a movie that came out last month.

[00:40:19] Um, based off the Broadway musical Wicked.

[00:40:22] Which is based off a book.

[00:40:23] A book.

[00:40:24] Which is inspired by.

[00:40:25] The Wizard of Oz.

[00:40:27] Yeah.

[00:40:27] It's just a whole line of, of titles inspired by.

[00:40:30] Um, but the stage show debuted in like 2002.

[00:40:33] Um, and the movie was like picked up at the same time as a Broadway musical, but, and they were originally going to make it a movie first.

[00:40:42] But then they were like, oh, nevermind.

[00:40:44] Steven Schwartz is like, I got the music done.

[00:40:46] Yeehaw.

[00:40:47] They made the musical.

[00:40:48] And then they picked up the movie and the movie like was in pre-production for like 15 years before they finally were like, all right, we're ready to film.

[00:40:57] But no, it's in the thing about the movie is they're breaking it up into two parts.

[00:41:02] Like on stage, you get to watch the whole damn thing in one go with the movies.

[00:41:06] They're taking their time.

[00:41:07] Wait, with everything.

[00:41:08] So wait, this is Wicked part one.

[00:41:10] I didn't even know that.

[00:41:11] Yeah.

[00:41:11] Yeah.

[00:41:12] Wow.

[00:41:13] You know, I'm actually glad you told me that because if I got to the theater thinking I'm seeing Wicked and then at the end of it, I'm like, wait, what?

[00:41:19] You're like, all right, it's intermission.

[00:41:21] Am I going to be like where like my wife wants to rewatch the whole series every like year?

[00:41:26] She's going to want to watch the Wicked series.

[00:41:28] Yeah.

[00:41:29] I'm your wife in that because I watch Twilight every year.

[00:41:32] You watch Wizard of Oz and Thanksgiving and then the next week you watch Wicked.

[00:41:35] Yeah.

[00:41:36] Yeah.

[00:41:36] So I've only seen the movie once where hopefully if I'm feeling better, going to see it again this weekend.

[00:41:41] You will feel better.

[00:41:42] I hope.

[00:41:43] Yeah.

[00:41:43] How many times have you seen this movie?

[00:41:45] Huh?

[00:41:45] Once, she said.

[00:41:46] How many times have you seen it?

[00:41:47] She will see it more.

[00:41:47] I've only seen it once.

[00:41:48] I've only seen it once so far.

[00:41:49] And like, that's the thing.

[00:41:50] Movie, like going to the movies is so expensive that I barely go at all.

[00:41:54] This is true.

[00:41:54] I'm going to see it again and I would probably go see it a third time.

[00:41:57] That's how much I loved it.

[00:41:58] Like the musical itself.

[00:42:00] Like, I mean, I was a theater kid.

[00:42:02] I loved Wicked.

[00:42:03] And I got to, I've had the privilege of being able to see the live show.

[00:42:06] My mom took me when it went to Austin.

[00:42:08] Nice.

[00:42:09] For the tour.

[00:42:10] And no, I loved it.

[00:42:11] And so when I was, I heard it was being made into a movie.

[00:42:14] I was like, oh man, hell yeah.

[00:42:16] And like, this was when they first announced it when I was in college.

[00:42:18] So it was like 2010.

[00:42:20] And so like 14 years, 14 years later.

[00:42:24] Yeah.

[00:42:25] I'm glad.

[00:42:25] I'm glad it's, it's here.

[00:42:27] And it's amazing.

[00:42:28] As someone who's seen the stage show.

[00:42:30] I like the movie better.

[00:42:33] Me too.

[00:42:34] Yeah.

[00:42:34] So I saw the play when it was in Chicago.

[00:42:38] Nice.

[00:42:38] And I didn't really care for it.

[00:42:39] I remember because Glee had done an episode of it.

[00:42:43] But I saw that right before I saw the theater one.

[00:42:46] And I was like, it's not great.

[00:42:49] And then the movie was like coming out.

[00:42:52] And I was like, all right, well, like, we'll see it.

[00:42:54] Love it.

[00:42:55] Like, I liked the songs, like the Kristen Chenoweth version and all that stuff.

[00:42:58] The original.

[00:42:59] I listened to that a lot.

[00:43:00] But then we saw the one in Chicago and I was like, I don't know, maybe I was just like

[00:43:04] in a bad mood going into it.

[00:43:05] But I didn't love when I saw it live.

[00:43:07] But the movie, like getting to actually hang out in that world a little bit was just fun.

[00:43:12] Like every moment mattered.

[00:43:14] And like, you just couldn't help but smile throughout all of it.

[00:43:18] And I was like, this is, this is great.

[00:43:20] Like, this is awesome.

[00:43:21] This is the space right now.

[00:43:22] It's not negative space.

[00:43:23] It's the room I'm holding for Defying Gravity still.

[00:43:26] So it's just right.

[00:43:26] Are you holding space?

[00:43:27] I'm holding space for it.

[00:43:30] No.

[00:43:31] And like, what's really cool.

[00:43:32] What's really cool is like this, this movie built their sets.

[00:43:38] Yeah.

[00:43:38] They like, it's, it's the train, the whole train that was built.

[00:43:41] It's not like green screen.

[00:43:43] They built it.

[00:43:44] That's awesome.

[00:43:45] I love that, man.

[00:43:45] They planted every single damn tulip.

[00:43:47] Like I've been.

[00:43:47] So you're saying I should go see this soon.

[00:43:50] You need to go watch it like right now.

[00:43:51] Once we hit cut, go straight to the theater.

[00:43:54] We were going to watch it, but we got sidetracked with Gladiator.

[00:44:00] And.

[00:44:00] Saw that.

[00:44:01] Yeah.

[00:44:02] Gladiator.

[00:44:02] And we, we watched something else.

[00:44:03] I forget.

[00:44:04] It was very forgettable, I guess.

[00:44:05] But Gladiator.

[00:44:07] Me and my kid and wife, we, we, we, we have the mental state.

[00:44:09] We get like tickets every month.

[00:44:10] Like we go to the movies.

[00:44:11] Like we go to the movies a lot.

[00:44:14] Is it worth it?

[00:44:16] Yeah.

[00:44:17] Cause I could, honestly, when I heard that, cause I, they've, they've been wanting to do

[00:44:20] a Gladiator 2 since the first one was successful, but like it doesn't lend itself to a sequel.

[00:44:25] So me and John had a conversation.

[00:44:27] Okay.

[00:44:27] About this.

[00:44:28] We'll bring it up here, but here's my, my initial talk Gladiator 2.

[00:44:32] Gladiator 1 kicks ass.

[00:44:33] Gladiator 2 is okay.

[00:44:36] Yeah.

[00:44:36] Okay.

[00:44:37] Okay.

[00:44:37] Gladiator 2 is okay.

[00:44:38] That's understandable.

[00:44:39] It's, it's pretty normal for a lot of sequels.

[00:44:40] It's not all sequels.

[00:44:41] I love the first one.

[00:44:42] No, but my.

[00:44:43] Go ahead, John.

[00:44:44] Tell, tell them what we discussed.

[00:44:45] Cause what's your take on is Gladiator 2.

[00:44:47] A funny story.

[00:44:48] My dad loves Gladiator so much.

[00:44:50] He named my little brother Maximus.

[00:44:52] Nice.

[00:44:53] So like, cause he was born around that time.

[00:44:56] So his name is Maximus Decimus Diaz.

[00:44:58] Damn.

[00:44:59] That went, that went hard.

[00:45:01] That went hard.

[00:45:01] Yeah.

[00:45:01] I was like, that was terrible.

[00:45:03] I was like, I like Lion King.

[00:45:04] Ben's name isn't Simba.

[00:45:05] Like we all got to breathe.

[00:45:07] Why is his name not Benjamin Simba?

[00:45:09] Avino.

[00:45:10] He likes Spiderman enough, right?

[00:45:11] What's his name?

[00:45:12] Yeah.

[00:45:12] But it was funny cause Gladiator 2 was, was fun.

[00:45:15] It has a lot of like, they're stretching little, little scenes from like the first one for

[00:45:21] the second one.

[00:45:22] But it's kind of like, um, the force awakens where it's like, Oh, we're, we're doing it

[00:45:26] again.

[00:45:27] And, but everyone in it is like gorgeous and awesome.

[00:45:31] So I can't even be mad.

[00:45:32] I'm just like, I don't know who this new guy is.

[00:45:34] He's all right.

[00:45:35] I was like, cool.

[00:45:37] Yeah.

[00:45:38] He's in there, but my wife watched the first editor again a couple nights ago.

[00:45:42] And I'm like, why is this so like, it sucks me in every time I watch it.

[00:45:48] And then I go like, but the second one, I'm like, I don't need to see it.

[00:45:50] I don't, I don't feel the need to go see it.

[00:45:52] It's not bad at all.

[00:45:53] It's just, I saw it on a big screen.

[00:45:55] I got to see my naval battle inside the arena, the Coliseum, right?

[00:45:58] Something I've always wanted to see.

[00:46:00] Yeah.

[00:46:01] Gorgeous.

[00:46:01] Like, wow, that's so cool.

[00:46:03] That's a real thing they did.

[00:46:04] Yeah.

[00:46:05] I wanted to see it.

[00:46:06] I was so infatuated with that and I got to see it.

[00:46:08] Great.

[00:46:08] Paid off.

[00:46:09] And I got to see Denzel be Denzel, but it wasn't like the Denzel that I wanted.

[00:46:14] John, I think we talked about it a little bit because it's, what do you say?

[00:46:18] How do we define it?

[00:46:20] It's, it's Denzel being Denzel, but in Rome.

[00:46:24] Yeah.

[00:46:25] Like it's not even him playing a character that's Roman.

[00:46:27] It's like if Denzel just woke up and went like, all right, I'm Denzel.

[00:46:31] Here I am.

[00:46:31] You know what?

[00:46:32] He's just doing lines from training day, but I'm like, God, he's captivating.

[00:46:36] There's a few actors that can just do that.

[00:46:38] And we're like, yeah, we'll go with it.

[00:46:40] You know?

[00:46:41] Yeah.

[00:46:41] I was just like, I like you enough.

[00:46:42] There's a scene where he runs into a guy and goes like, I own your house.

[00:46:45] Yeah.

[00:46:46] And I'm like, whoa.

[00:46:47] Like, okay.

[00:46:48] Denzel.

[00:46:49] And he's got like big earrings the whole time too.

[00:46:51] I'm just like, I love it.

[00:46:53] You came into set with those.

[00:46:55] The one thing that did take me out of it, there's one line where he is just like, hose

[00:47:00] them down.

[00:47:01] And then Denzel washes away, walks away.

[00:47:03] And like, I remember sitting there watching and going like, did they have hoses?

[00:47:09] I didn't catch that.

[00:47:10] Like, they sort of had indoor plumbing sometimes, but not hoses.

[00:47:14] Right?

[00:47:15] So I have like so many questions.

[00:47:16] I was like, wait a minute.

[00:47:18] Let me throw the hose on top of this.

[00:47:21] You know what?

[00:47:22] They were going to start hitting them with gardening equipment.

[00:47:25] The hose.

[00:47:26] The hose.

[00:47:27] Oh, I got you.

[00:47:28] It's fine.

[00:47:28] They hosed them until they were down.

[00:47:30] From what everybody tells me, like, Wicked's the thing to go see on a big screen.

[00:47:33] So I'm going to try to do that before it goes away.

[00:47:36] Yeah.

[00:47:36] Just wait until Moana leaves, though.

[00:47:38] Because they're taking up all the Dolby screens right now.

[00:47:40] Well, actually, I'm actually annoyed because I had, when I was in London, I got to see a

[00:47:44] couple of musicals and a friend of ours said, oh, you need to go see Wicked, but you need

[00:47:47] to see it on IMAX.

[00:47:48] So like, as soon as I got back, we're going to see it on IMAX.

[00:47:50] It was only at IMAX in Austin for like two days in one theater and three days in the other

[00:47:54] theater.

[00:47:54] And none of those days I was available.

[00:47:55] So I was like, well, I can't see it on IMAX.

[00:47:58] But I did get to see some movies in the West End, which is movies.

[00:48:01] I did get to see some plays in the West End, which is pretty cool.

[00:48:03] What'd you see?

[00:48:04] The Devil Wears Prada.

[00:48:06] Did the Shop Boys reference anybody?

[00:48:07] Yeah.

[00:48:08] It just started about a month or two ago.

[00:48:11] And I got to see one of the early performances with Vanessa Williams as The Devil.

[00:48:16] It was really good.

[00:48:17] The music, it's the kind of story that lends itself well to a musical.

[00:48:20] So it was really good.

[00:48:21] Yeah.

[00:48:22] Okay.

[00:48:23] Now, Alexis, she is very much into fashion and fashion history.

[00:48:26] So she was getting frustrated by the clothing.

[00:48:28] And I was like, why?

[00:48:28] It looks great.

[00:48:29] She goes, but it's so dated because it takes place in 2006.

[00:48:32] So she could recognize that.

[00:48:34] To me, it just looks cool.

[00:48:35] Yeah.

[00:48:35] And then we saw Cabaret.

[00:48:38] And the thing is, both The Devil Wears Prada and Cabaret, I enjoyed the play versions more.

[00:48:44] So that's cool.

[00:48:45] I'd only watched Cabaret for the first time like a month ago.

[00:48:47] And then to see the play version, it was so much more affecting.

[00:48:51] It really, really got to me.

[00:48:53] It was so intense.

[00:48:54] Yeah.

[00:48:56] Yeah.

[00:48:56] Yeah.

[00:48:56] The first show that we did when I entered college as a freshman was Cabaret.

[00:49:02] And we couldn't even do the full show because we're in Texas and whatever.

[00:49:07] Yeah.

[00:49:08] But yeah, no.

[00:49:09] It's such a good show.

[00:49:10] It's such a good show.

[00:49:12] The only live show I saw, I saw a portion of it before I got kicked out by security.

[00:49:17] So that was Les Mis.

[00:49:18] I got to see like a portion.

[00:49:19] You weren't there for that, were you, Kevin?

[00:49:21] I was not.

[00:49:22] But I seemed to get kicked out by security, apparently.

[00:49:25] So I should have been there.

[00:49:27] Do we have to do, did we air your story?

[00:49:31] Did it actually air?

[00:49:32] I think we, no, I think you made it a clip.

[00:49:35] I think you made it a clip.

[00:49:37] Yeah, but it didn't air.

[00:49:38] Yeah.

[00:49:39] So this is an un-aired adventure, guys, that I've been kind of hinting at here and there.

[00:49:42] Elliot gets the joke every time.

[00:49:44] I was more obsessed with making out in Girlfriend and Girlfriend instead of watching Les Mis,

[00:49:49] that the actual people on stage were like staring at us while they were going through a performance,

[00:49:54] that they had to ask us to leave.

[00:49:56] And I was banned from field trips for the rest of senior year.

[00:49:59] I don't even want to know.

[00:50:01] What?

[00:50:02] You're the original Lauren Boebert.

[00:50:03] That's exactly what popped in my head.

[00:50:04] I didn't want to say it.

[00:50:05] I did want to say it, but that's what popped in my head.

[00:50:08] You Boeberted that, didn't you?

[00:50:10] Yeah.

[00:50:10] Nothing gets Freddie going more than the French Revolution.

[00:50:15] Revolution in my sight.

[00:50:17] He's in a guillotine and he's like, it's on.

[00:50:19] We're suffering.

[00:50:20] I'm down for that.

[00:50:21] Excited.

[00:50:22] That.

[00:50:24] No, I mean, to be real with you, I guess I've enjoyed the fact that I want to kind of start winding down here at the end of the show

[00:50:30] because it's been a great season.

[00:50:33] It's been a lot of fun.

[00:50:34] We've had some great guests.

[00:50:35] I want to just take a moment here to just thank everybody that's been on the show as a guest, as a guest host.

[00:50:42] My guest host here is Kevin and Elliot, of course, just been able to.

[00:50:45] And John, when you stepped in and were co-hosting with Kevin too, that was great.

[00:50:48] Yeah, that was good.

[00:50:49] You should do that more often.

[00:50:51] You should do that more often, you know?

[00:50:53] You know, but the thing that we want to do here, I want to do is just thank the primos, the listener, the viewer.

[00:51:00] You know, we've tried a few new things here and I hope that you've enjoyed it.

[00:51:04] And we do get some great feedback.

[00:51:06] We have a bigger following this time around.

[00:51:08] I want to thank Kevin.

[00:51:09] Kevin, you know, we've been doing this together for what going on feels like four years with you?

[00:51:12] Three years?

[00:51:13] I think three.

[00:51:14] Yeah.

[00:51:14] Maybe four.

[00:51:16] Three.

[00:51:17] I think yeah, three years.

[00:51:18] It's been a lot of fun.

[00:51:19] Me and Chikuma started this back in 2018 as two primos, one drunken phone call and the guy that had a laptop.

[00:51:26] And we're like, hey man, people need to hear our voice too.

[00:51:29] That was his mission.

[00:51:31] He's like, we have voices.

[00:51:32] They need to hear it.

[00:51:34] Agreed.

[00:51:34] You know what?

[00:51:35] And that sparked this whole project.

[00:51:37] And since then, we've been able to be part of some great collaborations with different comic cons.

[00:51:41] We do a Mexamerican.

[00:51:42] We had our show there.

[00:51:44] That's Latino Comic Con as well.

[00:51:45] I know Kevin, you travel a lot for different cons.

[00:51:47] So does Elia.

[00:51:48] And, you know, I appreciate Elia as well for joining us here.

[00:51:52] And you brought a spice to this show, Prima, that, you know, was very much needed.

[00:51:57] And I appreciate you and the energy and time you put into this.

[00:52:00] Look at her now.

[00:52:01] She's fighting God knows what just to be on the show for the last episode of the season.

[00:52:06] The show needs to be spice.

[00:52:08] And if she's not here, it won't be.

[00:52:09] It's not spice.

[00:52:11] It's not spice.

[00:52:12] But I want to just take that moment.

[00:52:13] Just thank everybody for listening.

[00:52:14] Of course, you know, I'll say my final goodbyes here after the fact.

[00:52:17] But I just want to take a moment.

[00:52:18] Thank Kevin.

[00:52:19] Thank John, of course.

[00:52:20] And everybody that's participated and followed along and kept us going.

[00:52:23] We're going to come back next season.

[00:52:25] We're going to try some new things.

[00:52:26] We're going to take this time to kind of recharge our batteries creatively.

[00:52:29] And really just come up with a lot more content.

[00:52:31] I hate that they say that word content, but that's just kind of the term.

[00:52:34] Yeah.

[00:52:34] But I want to create more fun things for you all to enjoy, you know?

[00:52:38] I have my reading list.

[00:52:40] This is my reading list.

[00:52:41] You got to read.

[00:52:42] I'm going to ask ChatGPT what we should do.

[00:52:45] Don't do that.

[00:52:46] Don't be that guy, Kevin.

[00:52:48] But I want to give you all a moment, you know, to kind of just say your piece here at the

[00:52:52] end, too, for the closing of the show and season.

[00:52:54] John, let's start with you, man.

[00:52:55] You've only been on, like, what, six times?

[00:52:58] And hopefully, like, maybe two or three.

[00:53:00] But, you know, your goodbyes to the primos and kind of, like, the show in general.

[00:53:04] No, thank you guys for having me.

[00:53:05] It's been great from being, like, a guest to getting to meet you guys in person and hang

[00:53:09] out at the show and stuff.

[00:53:11] That was, like, an amazing experience for, like, this year and everything.

[00:53:14] And, like, this show is awesome.

[00:53:15] This show is great.

[00:53:16] It's one that I always recommend to people who have, like, new projects and stuff.

[00:53:19] I always say, like, go talk to them.

[00:53:21] Like, they're good people.

[00:53:23] Like, they'll generally be excited for your project if you're excited for your project.

[00:53:27] I was like, so as long as, like, you got that, like, this is a perfect place for people

[00:53:32] to go because it's so welcoming and so nerdy of a community.

[00:53:35] Like, each one of you kind of has, like, your own thing.

[00:53:38] Like, Kevin's just a walking encyclopedia of comics in, like, a way that I never thought

[00:53:43] possible of, like, a person.

[00:53:44] I was like, this is insane.

[00:53:46] Yeah, and I talk too much.

[00:53:47] So, like, yeah.

[00:53:49] And, like, Elia's got, like, all the D&D stuff, like, down pack, ready to go.

[00:53:53] So that was, like, awesome.

[00:53:54] And then Freddie, like, you and me talk, like, on occasion, I will just, like, text and,

[00:53:58] like, catch up and stuff, which is awesome.

[00:54:00] So, yeah, I love being on anytime I can be or if you guys ever need someone to, like,

[00:54:04] jump on and help out, I'm more than willing to do it.

[00:54:07] Always welcome, John.

[00:54:08] Definitely, definitely.

[00:54:09] Elia, how about you?

[00:54:10] What are your final thoughts for the season here?

[00:54:13] Oh, I'm happy I was able to join.

[00:54:15] This is my first full season with the Primos.

[00:54:18] And I'm glad I could be on even on the days where I'm like, I'm sick.

[00:54:23] Goodbye.

[00:54:26] No, I'm glad I've been able to join and meet so many great people.

[00:54:30] I'm glad I was able to share this space with other people at shows.

[00:54:35] Like, it's always cool to meet la comunidad out in the wild, essentially.

[00:54:40] See that there's so many Latina nerds out there who just want a community to feel okay in.

[00:54:47] And this is a home for y'all.

[00:54:48] And just as much as, like, y'all inspire me.

[00:54:52] Like, I'm hoping that I'm bringing that back out.

[00:54:55] Like, I got my new comic coming out.

[00:54:57] That was fun of this year.

[00:54:58] I got Princesa Taco next year.

[00:54:59] So, I hope to feel that same energy from all the creators I get to talk to all year round here.

[00:55:06] It's so cool seeing everyone make cool things.

[00:55:09] For sure.

[00:55:10] And Mr. Kevin Garcia, what about you, man?

[00:55:12] How do you end the season here, season seven?

[00:55:15] Honestly, I love being on my Primo's podcast because you guys inspire me to keep going.

[00:55:21] You know what I mean?

[00:55:22] We get to talk about cool stuff and have conversations.

[00:55:25] But also, like, we meet people like John or Elia or you, Freddie, who have goals and go out and pursue them.

[00:55:33] I don't think I would have done World's War Comics this year if I didn't have that, you know, kind of that emotional support of the podcast.

[00:55:40] So, that's what I love about it, which, by the way, I put it on Global Comics right now so people can, you know, go and get it.

[00:55:45] Hey.

[00:55:46] Read it digitally.

[00:55:47] Hey, read it out.

[00:55:48] You know, I'm working on the second issue already.

[00:55:50] But the thing is, it's like, we don't joke about it, but we often just kind of flippantly say, you know, we're family.

[00:55:54] But it is.

[00:55:55] It is a family.

[00:55:55] And that includes the listeners and everybody that jumps in on the Discord and everybody that, you know, jumps in on social media and TikTok and everything.

[00:56:02] It's honestly refreshing.

[00:56:06] There's hope in the world.

[00:56:06] So, that's kind of you to say, man, because to round it out finally here is just to my, I guess, my closing deal here is that we get to do something together.

[00:56:15] And it's something memorable to us.

[00:56:19] And at the end of the day, as long as we enjoy it and we can walk away from it, that we put everything we could into it and are happy with it.

[00:56:26] And that's what it's, that's all we want, right?

[00:56:29] And whatever we do.

[00:56:30] And the podcast has been a great avenue to meet great people.

[00:56:32] I've had great opportunities.

[00:56:34] Like I said, I joke around sometimes.

[00:56:36] I'm like, hey, ma'am, I hand off the reins to somebody else.

[00:56:38] Because, you know, eventually I'm just not going to be the guy anymore.

[00:56:41] No, but I will keep doing this as long as people want it.

[00:56:44] And the community wants our voices heard.

[00:56:47] Like, oh, Chikume said, the ghost of this podcast that everybody asked me, who's this Chikume guy?

[00:56:51] And I was like, he exists.

[00:56:53] I promise.

[00:56:53] People want to hear our voices.

[00:56:55] We have voices.

[00:56:57] We've always made that very loud and clear.

[00:56:59] Like, we have an opinion.

[00:57:01] We have our voices.

[00:57:02] We have ideas.

[00:57:03] We don't have to wait to get accepted or doors open for us.

[00:57:06] Let's make our own tables and our own seats.

[00:57:08] Let's make our own.

[00:57:09] Let's make noise, like I used to say back in the day.

[00:57:11] Like, let's make this happen.

[00:57:12] Like, it's a mosh pit of people.

[00:57:14] Latinidad has so many people and so many clusters of different tastes and likes.

[00:57:19] There's room for everybody, right?

[00:57:21] And let's just make sure that we always remember that no matter where we're from, we're all primos.

[00:57:27] And I say that wholeheartedly in everything we do here on the show.

[00:57:30] And I hope that if you're a listener or a viewer and this is maybe your first time, the first season, go back.

[00:57:35] Check out those older shows because there's great creators on there that still are making things today that were featured that couldn't get on this season.

[00:57:41] And I'll open up the doors, like I said before, like John said it.

[00:57:45] If you have something you want to bring on and talk about, come on.

[00:57:48] We're excited to talk about it.

[00:57:50] Reach out to us.

[00:57:51] Don't hesitate.

[00:57:51] At my P-MOS podcast.

[00:57:53] Of course, you can reach out to everybody here on their social.

[00:57:55] Yeah.

[00:57:55] At Avina Comics.

[00:57:56] Message me.

[00:57:56] Kevin Garcia underscore com.

[00:57:58] At Spice Illustrations.

[00:58:00] And of course, Kevin, go ahead.

[00:58:02] Well, I was going to say, Kevin Garcia underscore com on TikTok and Instagram.

[00:58:05] But I have been dipping my toe into Blue Sky.

[00:58:08] And there they won't let me do underscores.

[00:58:10] So it's just Kevin Garcia.

[00:58:11] So Kevin Garcia, you know, at Blue Sky.

[00:58:14] And it's pretty nice out there.

[00:58:16] I never really got into Twitter, but this is kind of like friendly Twitter.

[00:58:20] Yeah.

[00:58:20] Good.

[00:58:21] Good, good, good.

[00:58:22] But Primos, we're going to end the show.

[00:58:23] We will see you guys sometime in February.

[00:58:26] That's kind of the window we give each other.

[00:58:28] Keep an eye out for us on socials.

[00:58:30] We will be in touch.

[00:58:31] Reach out to us, Primos.

[00:58:33] And remember, check in on each other.

[00:58:35] Look out for each other.

[00:58:36] Remember, no matter where we're from, we're all Primos.

[00:58:39] Until next time.

[00:58:41] We out.

[00:58:44] Primos, we've made it to the end of the season.

[00:58:47] Thank you so much for watching and listening.

[00:58:50] We appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

[01:00:17] have a great conversation, feel free to reach out to us.

[01:00:22] Remember, like I always say,

[01:00:23] take care of each other, look good on each other.

[01:00:26] And no matter where you're from,

[01:00:29] we're all Pimos,

[01:00:30] and we'll see you next season.

[01:00:32] Adios.

[01:00:32] Adios.
